A user can browse and select content using a personal computer or other computer that may be more readily available or more convenient to use than the handheld device. The personal computer can communicate with a web server which receives the user's request for content to be distributed to the handheld device. The web server can retrieve configuration information pertaining to the handheld device and communicate with a content server to determine whether the user's request for content distribution is valid based on information identifying the handheld device and at least some of the configuration information pertaining to the handheld device. The content server can transmit the requested content item to the handheld device if the user's request is valid and if the handheld device is able to receive the content item.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for the non-intrusive monitoring of business events on a middleware server. The steps to non-intrusively monitor business events on a middleware server include: monitoring business event traffic on a middleware server based on at least one business process probe that specifies an event and at least one business object attribute to be monitored; extracting data values associated with the specified attributes from the specified business event; storing the data values in a persistent data store; and present the data to the user. The monitoring does not alter the flow of existing business processes associated with the specified business event.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for graphically building business rule conditions. The method of graphically building business rule conditions comprises displaying a menu of function icons for the user, and a menu of business rule attribute icons for the user. The method allows the user to freely drag and drop functions and attributes onto a staging canvas, and relate the functions and attributes to build a graphical depiction of the desired business rule condition. The method generates source code directly from the graphical depiction such that the user does not have to understand the specific syntax and nuances of the development environment or runtime environment for the business rule.

Abstract: A computer program product, apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for automatic generation of a map definition. The computer program product performs operations for such generation. These operations include identifying a source data structure and a source attribute associated with the source data structure and identifying a destination data structure and a destination attribute associated with the destination data structure. These operations also include automatically identifying a match of the source attribute and the destination attribute and generating a map definition inclusive of the match. The computer program product, apparatus, system, and method thereby reduce human intervention in the creation of a map definition.
