Abstract: The present invention provides improved methods of treating subjects with cancers, such as head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). In one aspect, the invention provides a method of treating cancer in a subject in need thereof. In some embodiments, the method comprises administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an HGF inhibitor and an EGFR inhibitor. In some embodiments, recurrent or metastatic HNSCC is treated with a combination of ficlatuzumab and cetuximab.
