    Abstract: Automotive vehicles include a display system releasably attached to the interior facing curved glass surface of a front windshield assembly. The front windshield assembly includes at least two spaced apart rigid pins adhesively bonded thereto. The display system includes a rigid bracket including a keyhole portion configured for sliding engagement with the at least two pins. A display such as a non-transparent display, a transparent display, or a heads-up display can be mounted to the bracket. A decorative covering overlies the rigid bracket in its entirety and can be readily removed to provide access for release of the rigid bracket from the at least tow pins. The front windshield can further include a closeout formed of a compressible thermoplastic elastomer configured to compress upon sliding engagement of the rigid bracket with the at least two pins and form a sealed cavity to prevent dust, debris and moisture from entering.

    Abstract: Laminated vehicle glass structures included printed piezoelectric actuators for sound generation. Ring-shaped piezoelectric actuators are printed on an inner surface of a selected one of the exterior glass panel or interior glass panel. The printed piezoelectric actuators are offset relative to a centerline longitudinally extending between the opposing glass panels. Also disclosed are processes for forming the laminated glass structures including at least one printed piezoelectric actuator. The laminated glass structures can be utilized about the vehicle anywhere sound generation is desired, e.g., passenger windows, sunroofs, front windshield, rear windshield, and the like. The printed ring-shaped piezoelectric actuators act as a diaphragm to produce sound upon excitation.

An exemplary vehicle includes a laminated glass panel having an outer glass layer, an inner glass layer, and a bonding layer between the outer glass layer and the inner glass layer. The vehicle further includes a display unit embedded in the laminated glass panel. The display unit includes a micro IC having a driving circuit and a micro LED on a surface of the driving circuit. The vehicle includes a controller electrically coupled to the display unit. The controller is configured to direct the driving circuit to deliver a driving voltage to the micro LED.
