Abstract: A gunsight for a weapon including a channel sight with a sight post located on one end of the channel with one embodiment of the gunsight having a sight post with an opening for receiving an insert that has a contrasting color from the target the user intends to shoot at.

Abstract: A both eyes open channel sight where the vision of one eye is shielded from the sighting picture by the channel walls of the channel sight. In one embodiment the channel sight has a pair of parallel light reflecting surfaces that are located at the topmost portion of the gunsight to enable the user to quickly align the channel sight with a target with both eyes open. Located in the channel sight is a sight post that has a changeable colored or translucent insert to permit the user to have a channel sight post with a color that contrasts with the target. In another embodiment the channel sight is combined with a flip up rear sight so the user can aim with both eyes open so the user has the option of selecting one of two precise aiming positions by using only the channel sight or both the channel sight and a rear sight.

Abstract: A sighting device for mounting on the top of a weapon comprising a channel member having a pair of sidewalls extending upward, with the sidewalls having parallel topmost light reflective sighting surfaces to quickly guide the user's eye into initial alignment with a target and the reflective sighting surfaces and a sight post spaced between the sidewalls to enable a user to precisely aim a weapon attached to the channel sight.

Abstract: This invention comprises an illuminated gunsight attachment for mounting on a weapon to permit the user to aim and shoot in low-light conditions. The illuminated gunsight includes a light-emitting diode for a front sight and an illuminated rod for a rear sight. The invention also includes a magnetic switch which automatically activates the power circuit to illuminate the sights as the revolver is withdrawn from its holster. The illuminated gunsight attachment is mounted unobtrusively on the barrel of a weapon to permit use of either conventional sight posts of the weapon or the illuminated sights of the invention. In one embodiment the rear sight is formed by a set of parallel lines comprised of flourescent markings located on opposite sides of an illuminated line. The invention also includes a firearm holster with a magnet thereon for activating the illuminated gunsight as it is withdrawn from the holster.
