  • Patent number: 7755609
Abstract: An orthopedic computer mouse including a flat base substantially shaped as a parallelogram, the mouse having a central region substantially shaped as a hemispheric dome, separated from a lateral recess wherein the thumb is fitted by a projection feature that ensures the pincer position assumed by the hand of the user, and containing a standard-sized body which houses control buttons electronic components and the motion sensing means. An elongating attachment supports the proximal region of the hand of the user and presents a projection feature. Both elements are attachable to the body by mutually cooperating latching elements. The elongating attachments and the projection features are manufactured to accommodate a wide range of hand sizes.

  • Publication number: 20080165123
Abstract: An arrangement applied to an orthopedic computer mouse, comprising a flat base substantially shaped as a parallelogram, the mouse having a central region substantially shaped as a hemispheric dome, separated from a lateral recess wherein the thumb (51) is fitted by a projection feature (40) that ensures the pincer position assumed by the hand of the user, and comprising a standard-sized body (20), wherein are housed the control buttons (26, 27a, 27b), the electronic components and the motion sensing means. An elongating attachment (30a, 30b, 30c) supports the proximal region of the hand of the user and presents a projection feature (41a, 41b). Both elements are attachable to the body by mutually cooperating latching elements (32, 42a, 42b, 42c, 21, 22, 23, 24). The elongating attachments and the projection features are manufactured in various sizes in order to accommodate a wide range of hand sizes.

  • Publication number: 20040107621
Abstract: A posture grip referring to a grip configuration to be used in arms and, more specifically, in arms of predominantly manual support and/or function, such as revolvers, pistols, carbines, rifles, etc. Such a grip incorporates known scientific knowledge of orthopedic medicine and concepts such as “functional position,” “precision grip,” “opposition,” and “awkward position,” in referring to the precise position that a user's hand and forearm assume during use.

  • Patent number: 6532002
Abstract: An orthopedic computer mouse which can be translated over a support surface, the mouse adapted for supporting the hand in the “physiological position” or “position of function”. The proposed shape was obtained from a mold of the human hand, and the mold was realized in the “position of function.” This position forces the user's hand to be placed in a position of function, thus eliminating the possibility of diseases. The present invention provides an orthopedic computer mouse which is “innocuous,” i.e., a computer mouse which has no adverse effect on, or which is harmless to the user.
