  • Publication number: 20070098802
Abstract: Methods of preparing organic nanoparticles are provided. Such methods can include generating a mixture of an organic material, a first liquid, and a second liquid, wherein the organic material is more soluble in the second liquid than in the first liquid. The methods can also include adding a third liquid to the mixture which causes the mixture to form an emulsion. Such an emulsion can have a continuous phase including the first liquid and a discontinuous phase including the organic material and the second liquid. The organic material can be precipitated to form organic nanoparticles and the second liquid can diffuse into the continuous phase.

  • Publication number: 20060222702
Abstract: A method for labeling a substrate includes positioning the substrate adjacent to an inkjet material dispenser, and selectively jetting an edible ink onto the substrate with the inkjet material dispenser. The edible ink is configured to exhibit a known fluorescent emissive profile when exposed to an ultraviolet light.

  • Publication number: 20060165895
Abstract: A method for forming nanoparticles in-situ includes depositing a first nanoparticle reactant from a printhead onto a desired substrate, and depositing a second nanoparticle reactant from the printhead substantially onto the first reactant, wherein the first nanoparticle reactant is configured to react with the second nanoparticle reactant to form a nanoparticle.
