  • Patent number: 4024154
Abstract: Improved process for converting copper phthalocyanine to pigmentary form by dry milling the copper phthalocyanine, contacting the dry-milled copper phthalocyanine with an organic liquid in water emulsion, and recovering the pigmentary copper phthalocyanine. The improvement resides in the use of at least one aliphatic hydrocarbon derived from petroleum as the organic liquid. The pigmentary copper phthalocyanine which results from the improved process exhibits superior tinctorial properties and is especially useful in coating compositions requiring high quality pigment.

  • Patent number: 3954795
Abstract: Improved process for the preparation of copper phthalocyanine in pigmentary form by viscous salt milling crude copper phthalocyanine in the presence of an organic conditioning agent and FeCl.sub.3 followed by acid extraction. This process requires substantially less energy than conventional viscous salt milling and produces a highly dispersible, very strong .beta.-phase copper phthalocyanine which is useful as a pigment in a variety of applications.
