  • Patent number: 8513579
Abstract: A heater assembly for a microwave oven is provided. The heater assembly includes a ceramic heater and a halogen heater that provides heat used to cook food in a cooking chamber provided in a cavity assembly; a heater supporter fixed to a side of the cavity assembly, with the ceramic and halogen heaters fixed to the heater supporter; and a reflection plate provided above the ceramic and halogen heaters to reflect heat of the ceramic and halogen heaters to the cooking chamber, wherein a portion of the reflection plate corresponding to the ceramic heater is open in its longitudinal direction. With this structure, contact between a heating wire of the ceramic heater and the reflection plate is prevented and the heat dissipation of the ceramic and halogen heaters is obtained by means of airflow that is generated by a cooling fan assembly to cool electric parts.

  • Patent number: 8013279
Abstract: An outer case for a cooking appliance is provided. An opening is formed in an external face plate of the outer case at a position corresponding to selected components of the cooking appliance. The opening is selectively covered with a cover plate so that the components may be selectively accessed through the opening, without removing the outer case. The cover plate may include extensions that are engaged in concave portions of the external face plate, with an opposite end of the cover plate being fastened to the external face plate by fasteners. The external face plate may also include a reinforcement bead and tool passing holes that allow a tool to pass therethrough without removing the external face plate.

  • Publication number: 20090236336
Abstract: An opening (42) is formed in a first external face plate (40) of an outer case (38) defining an external appearance of a cooking appliance and at a position corresponding to parts (26) and (28) installed in the cooking appliance, and the opening (42) is covered with a cover plate (52). The cover plate (52) is detachably mounted on the first external face plate 40 in order to cover the opening (42). The cover plate (52) is formed with extension portions 62, so that the extension portions (62) are inserted into and caught in concave portions formed in the first external face plate (40) and the portion opposite to the extension portions (62) is fastened to the first external face plate 40 with screws. The first external face plate (40) is formed with a bead 50 for reinforcement, and tool-passing holes 48 that are to be covered with the extension portions (62) are formed through the first external face plate (40).
