  • Publication number: 20260043379
Abstract: The enabling of in-space cryogenic engines and cryogenic fuel depots for future space exploration missions begins with development of cryogenic fluid management systems upstream in the propellant feed system. Before single-phase liquid can flow to the engine or customer spacecraft receiver tank, the connecting transfer line can be chilled down to cryogenic temperatures. In some examples, a method to quench the line is to use the cold propellant itself. When a cryogenic fluid is introduced into a warm transfer system, two-phase flow quenching ensues. Due to the projected cost of space exploration, it is desired to perform this chilldown process using the least amount of propellant. The embodiments include enhancements that reduce the amount of propellant consumed during chilldown while in a microgravity environment. Experiments were performed to examine the effects of using low thermally conductive coatings and pulse flow on the chilldown process.

  • Publication number: 20250298067
Abstract: A method, system, and readable storage medium for fault line selection in distribution networks is provided. The method includes: obtaining the zero-sequence current of each feeder and the zero-sequence voltage of the busbar within a preset time window after a fault occurs; using these to process the feeder's short-time window zero-sequence instantaneous power curve cluster in the distribution network through KPCA (Kernel Principal Component Analysis) for dimensionality reduction, determining the principal component scores; and performing BIRCH (Balanced Iterative Reducing and Clustering using Hierarchies) clustering based on these scores to identify whether a feeder is faulted. This clustering process allows for precise and rapid identification of the faulted feeder, even when the current is small, improving detection accuracy. This solves the problem of quickly identifying the faulted feeder in a small current grounding distribution network during single-phase grounding faults.

  • Patent number: 12394979
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and system for adaptive reclosing of single-phase AC transmission lines in wind power systems. The invention utilizes single-ended electrical quantity to determine the type of fault. After a fault occurs, a signal acquisition device is used to sample the voltage of the fault phase. The obtained voltage is subjected to short-time Fourier transform to extract the amplitude of the fundamental frequency voltage component, and then processed with differential amplification to construct a fault nature identification criterion. Combined with a sliding time window for fault identification, if it is identified as a permanent fault, the reclosing device is locked out; if it is identified as a transient fault, the fault disappearance time is calculated to determine the reclosing time and output the closing signal. This invention is designed for adaptive reclosing after a circuit breaker trips in wind power AC transmission lines.

  • Patent number: 12348036
Abstract: This application presents an adaptive arc suppression method for ground faults in distribution networks, merging active and passive relay protection strategies. The method proceeds as follows: based on collected ground parameters, the fault phase is identified; compensation current is calculated from the fault's electromotive force, ground leakage resistance, and ground capacitance; current is injected at the neutral point according to the compensation current; finally, the arc suppression scheme is executed based on the zero-sequence voltage of the network's busbars. This approach incorporates both voltage- and current-based methods, addressing the limitation of fixed operation scenarios in traditional arc suppression methods. By quickly adapting to various fault situations, this method ensures an efficient and prompt response tailored to specific scenario requirements.

  • Publication number: 20250192547
Abstract: The invention relates to relay protection technology, specifically a method, system, and medium for fault arc suppression in distribution networks using closed-loop self-healing control. When a fault is detected in the distribution network, transient changes in the measured and virtual phase currents of each phase are obtained. The Pearson correlation coefficient between these changes is calculated to identify the target fault phase. The neutral point-to-ground voltage value is retrieved, and the target fault phase's voltage is adjusted to zero based on this value. The current from the fault phase, when its voltage is zeroed, is acquired. An injected current is then compensated at the neutral point to match this value, ensuring both the ground fault current and the fault phase voltage are reduced to zero. This method enhances the applicability of arc suppression for grounding faults in distribution networks.

  • Publication number: 20250167541
Abstract: The provided are a method, system, and medium for active arc-extinguishing voltage-current conversion in distribution networks. The method includes: detecting a single-phase-to-ground fault in the distribution network and identifying the target faulty phase; injecting compensating currents into the target faulty phase to reduce its voltage; measuring the residual current at the fault point during the injection of compensating currents and the zero-sequence voltage of the target faulty phase; determining a critical zero-sequence voltage threshold based on the residual current at the fault point and assessing whether this critical value exceeds the present zero-sequence voltage; if so, ceasing the injection of compensating currents into the target faulty phase and instead injecting active arc-extinguishing currents at the neutral point of the distribution network to mitigate ground currents at the grounding points of the distribution network.

Abstract: Systems and methods for thermal transport in space for cryogenic propellant storage tank chilldown are described. In order to maximize the storage tank chilldown thermal efficiency for the least amount of required cryogen consumption, the embodiments relate to quenching heat transfer concepts that can include the combination of cryogenic spray quenching cooling, thermal insulator thin-film coating on the tank inner surface, and spray flow pulsing. The boiling heat transfer physics that supports the concepts are described. The completed flight experiments successfully demonstrated the feasibility of the concepts and discovered that spray cooling can be an efficient cooling method for the tank chilldown in microgravity. In microgravity, the data shows that the chilldown thermal efficiency can reach 30% with a thermal insulator coating alone. Further thermal efficiencies can be made up to 50% with flow pulsing.

Abstract: A syringe positioning assembly includes a housing, a rotating member, a fixing member and a transmission member. The rotating member is connected to the fixing member via the transmission member, and during rotation, the rotating member can, via the transmission member, drive the fixing member to move. When the rotating member rotates in a direction away from a carrying face of the housing, the fixing member can be moved in a direction away from the fixing face. A space between the rotating member and the carrying face of the housing facilitates placement of a barrel of a syringe and a space between the fixing member and the fixing face of the housing can also facilitate placement of a barrel flange. A user can thus move the fixing member just by operating the rotating member, so that the syringe can be easily mounted and properly positioned.
