    Abstract: A stereoscopic image processing device including a depth map generation unit and a depth map correction unit. The depth map generation unit uses a first viewpoint image and a second viewpoint image to acquire depth values in units of blocks constituted of a plurality of pixels and generate a depth map. The depth map correction unit performs a judgment in the depth map as to whether or not a boundary region is included in a block of interest based on depth values of blocks surrounding the block of value, which is a block to be processed, and, if a boundary region is judged to be included in the block of interest, corrects the depth values in units of correction regions, which are units which are smaller than blocks, in the block of interest.

    Abstract: A stereoscopic image processing device is realized whereby a parallax map (depth map) can be acquired with a small amount of computation and high-precision stereoscopic image processing can be executed.     Abstract: A display system of the present invention includes a liquid crystal platform section (200). The liquid crystal platform section (200) includes (i) a Flash ROM (203) which stores data required for a liquid crystal wide instrument panel (100) to display all scenes, (ii) a RAM (204) which stores code image data sent from the Flash ROM (203), and (iii) a DIC (201) which generates the display data in accordance with the code image data sent to the RAM (204). In startup of the display system, the DIC (201) causes (i) only data of an image, out of data stored in Flash ROM (203), which image is to be displayed at startup of the display system to be sent to the RAM (204), and (ii) the display data to be generated in accordance with the data which has been sent to the RAM (204). The display system is arranged so as to employ as many existing hardware as possible, which can improve its operability by shortening the time required for the first scene to start to be displayed after the startup of the display system.
