    Abstract: A bearing cap is bolted to the cylinder head by a cap bolt to fix relative position of the camshaft to the cylinder head. An oil escape bore that connects a cap bolt insert bore formed in the bearing cap through a chain casing to an oil pan is formed in the bearing cap, wherein the oil escape bore is positioned with a distance from a cylinder-head meeting surface of the bearing cap. As a result the oil escape bore is formed without damaging mounting performance of the bearing cap to the cylinder head.

    Abstract: A cylinder head of an internal combustion engine comprises a structure cast in metal, the structure defining therein an intake port and having a side wall surface from which an upstream end of the intake port is exposed to the outside; and a partition plate of metal installed in the intake port to divide the same into two parallel intake conduits, the partition plate having lateral edges which are embedded in an inner wall of the intake port. The partition plate has an upstream edge which includes a major straight portion and two projected end portions which are provided on both ends of the major straight portion respectively, and the major straight portion is positioned inside relative to the side wall surface and the two projected end portions have upstream edges which are embedded in the inner wall of the intake port and machined to be flush with the side wall surface.

    Abstract: A constitution of protecting a fuel delivery tube of an engine, includes: 1) an engine body including: a) a cylinder head, and b) a ladder cam bracket defining an outer wall on a side section thereof, including: i) an outer frame, ii) an intake cam bracket, and iii) an exhaust cam bracket integrated with the outer frame and holding an exhaust cam shaft; 2) the fuel delivery tube disposed beside the engine body and extending in a direction substantially along a row of a cylinder; and 3) an intake manifold made of a material free from a metal. The outer wall of the ladder cam bracket is formed with a protrusion which protrudes toward a branch section of the intake manifold in such a manner as to prevent the branch section of the intake manifold from causing an interference with the fuel delivery tube.
