    Abstract: A liquid crystal display and a simple method to fabricate the same are provided, which can accurately measure luminance of an external light. The liquid crystal display includes a substrate; a thin film transistor array formed on the substrate; and a photoelectric conversion element having a reflection pattern formed on at least one side of the substrate, a photoelectric conversion region provided with a first semiconductor region formed on an upper part of the reflection pattern to receive an external light reflected by the reflection pattern, and a dummy pattern formed on an upper part of the photoelectric conversion region with a width corresponding to the first semiconductor region. The photoelectric conversion region may be configured to adjust the quantity of light incident to the thin film transistor array.

A plurality of sensing units are positioned at regions defined by the first and second sense data lines. A first sense data lines is connected to a second sense data line by a contact to output a first sense data signal through the first sense data line and a second sense data signal through the second sense data line. The sense signal processor reads and processes the first and second sense data signals.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes a first display panel, a second display panel, a liquid crystal layer, a plurality of sensing data lines formed on the second display panel, a plurality of variable capacitors connected to the sensing data lines and a first voltage of which capacitance is changed depending on pressure, a plurality of reference capacitors connected to the sensing data lines and a second voltage, and a plurality of output units connected to the sensing data lines which generate sensing signals on the basis of sensing data signals that flow through the sensing data lines. The magnitude of the first voltage has a first level and a second level that is different from the first level, and the magnitude of the second voltage is constant. A time period for maintaining the first voltage at the second level in a interval for reading the sensing signal is at least 1H, and the sensing signal is generated while maintaining the first voltage at the second level.
