  • Publication number: 20230002460
Abstract: A fusion protein including a GDF15 variant having increased physiological activity and in vivo stability, and a pharmaceutical composition containing the same are disclosed. The GDF15 variant or long-acting GDF15 fusion protein is superior to conventional GDF15 variants in terms of in vitro efficacy, binding affinity for GDF15 receptors, and body weight loss effect. Therefore, a pharmaceutical composition containing, as an active ingredient, the GDF15 variant, the long-acting GDF15 fusion protein, or a dimer of the fusion protein, causes appetite suppression, and thus can be effectively used as a therapeutic agent for metabolic diseases or obesity. Furthermore, the pharmaceutical composition can be used in combination therapy or the like with chemical drugs and other therapeutic agents for metabolic diseases, and can be effectively used in combination therapy with conventional therapeutic agents for metabolic diseases or obesity.

  • Patent number: 8737544
Abstract: A method and an apparatus of estimating a frequency offset in a wireless communication system are provided. An orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) receiver performs envelope equalized processing (EEP) with respect to a reception signal and calculates a partial periodogram with a plurality of test values based on the reception signal which goes through the EEP. The OFDM receiver estimates a first frequency offset, a second frequency offset, and a third frequency offset based on two partial periodograms adjacent to each other among the partial periodograms for the plurality of test values.

  • Patent number: 8428200
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for estimating a frequency offset by one training symbol including two symbols having the same structure and value in an OFDM system. The apparatus includes a first likelihood function calculator for modeling non-Gaussian impulsive noise included in the training symbol to a Cauchy probability density function in which a characteristic exponent of a BIS?S probability density function is 1, and calculating a likelihood function of a Cauchy distribution using the Cauchy probability density function, and a first frequency offset estimator for estimating an effective frequency offset value in which the likelihood function of the Cauchy distribution of the first likelihood function calculator becomes highest as a frequency offset estimation value. Thereby, it is possible to improve the performance of frequency offset estimation in non-Gaussian impulsive noise environments.

  • Publication number: 20100268604
Abstract: There are provided a method and a system for detecting a logogram from a digital content, recognizing the detected logogram, and providing a user with a variety of information associated with the logogram. In detail, the method and the system acquire a plurality of logograms associated with digital content producers, store the acquired logograms in a logogram database, compare the detected logogram with the logograms stored in the logogram database, determine whether the detected logogram matches any one of the logograms stored in the logogram database, and provide information to the user viewing the digital content or information on the content distribution to the corresponding digital content producer based on the logogram if the detected logogram matches at least one specific logogram stored in the logogram database.

  • Patent number: 7734078
Abstract: In time-resolved contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography, a measure quantifying image quality provides a basis for generating a linear filtered composite image by facilitating selection of a mask and an arterial phase image for subtraction. Filtering of individual pixels of a temporal series of images provides enhanced contrast in a single image by allowing the temporal behavior of the pixel intensity to denote representation as an artery, vein or background tissue. Motion artifacts are suppressed by re-registering sequential images, adjusting weighting before averaging and subtraction and filtering the Fourier data to eliminate data corrupted by motion or other phenomena.

  • Publication number: 20100030755
Abstract: There are provided a method for inferring a personal relationship of a user from readable data, and a method and a system for more precisely recognizing a certain person included in digital data created by a digital device of the user by using the readable data. More particularly, a method for analyzing readable data and inferring a personal relationship of the user from the analyzed readable data is provided. Further, a method and a system for providing a plurality of candidates having high probabilities of being determined as the certain person by referring to the readable data, and attaching tag information to the digital data by using information on the plurality of the candidates are provided. Using such methods and a system, the personal relationship of the user can be automatically inferred, thus tagging the digital data with ease.
