Abstract: An Obje network device service apparatus in a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) network system, the apparatus including: an information providing unit which discovers an Obje device, and provides information about the discovered Obje device; and an Obje service generation unit which generates a UPnP device, a counter Obje component, and an Obje client, based on the information about the Obje device, the UPnP device controlling the Obje client to use the Obje device in a UPnP control point and corresponding to the Obje device, the counter Obje component having a data type of the Obje device, and the Obje client generating a session for data transmission between the Obje device and the counter Obje component.

Abstract: An A/V stream-forwarding system forwarding A/V streams of a data network to an IEEE 1394 network and a method therefor. The A/V stream-forwarding system has a media server having an interface with the data network and providing the A/V streams; a transcoder receiving the A/V streams provided by the media server through the data-network interface, and transcoding the A/V streams into A/V streams in a predetermined format supported by an IEEE 1394 network; and; a display device receiving and reproducing the A/V streams of the transcoder in the predetermined format that is supported by the IEEE 1394 network. Accordingly, the A/V streams of the data network are converted into A/V streams in a predetermined format that is supported by the IEEE 1394 network, regardless of diverse A/V stream formats, codecs, transmission protocols, transmission control protocols, and so on, of the data network.

Abstract: A network connection apparatus for communicating between a network device located in a first private network and a second private network located outside the first private network. The apparatus includes an address acquisition module capable of acquiring a public IP address of a network management device from a DNS based on a domain name of the network management device of the second private network is provided. A connection management module is provided that is capable of forming a P2P connection to the network device if there is a request for a connection to the second private network from the network device. The connection management module is further capable of forming a virtual private network tunnel with the second private network based on the public IP address transferred from the address acquisition module. The connection management module is further capable of transferring to the network device a private IP address used in the second private network.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for establishing a path in a wireless network are provided where the method includes receiving location information about a first neighbor node and a second neighbor node, the first neighbor node being located within a range of a first hop from a source node, the second neighbor node being located within a range of a second hop from the source node, determining a direction of a point where the second neighbor node is located, based on the source node, by using the received location information; detecting a particular second neighbor node having a same direction of a point where a destination node is located, based on the source node, and limitedly establishing a path via the detected second neighbor node, when the source node establishes a path for transmitting predetermined data to the destination node.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for allocating a radio resource in a wireless sensor network are provided, in which a signal requesting a radio resource allocation is received from any one of sensors included in the wireless sensor network, an amount of remaining energy is compared with respect to each zone where a sensor transmitting the signal is included, an order of zones, from a zone comprising a greatest amount of remaining energy to a zone having a least amount of remaining energy, is determined as a result of the comparison, and a time slot is allocated to a sensor of each zone according to the determined order of zones, when transmitting a frame for the radio resource allocation.

Abstract: A gateway supports communications between network devices connected to different private networks. When a tunnel setup request message is received from a host connected to a first private network to setup a tunnel to a second private network connected to a public network, a a control unit of the gateway communicates with the gateway of the second private network, negotiates necessary information, and sets up a VPN tunnel utilizing the information. If the private networks have identical network address, or if network address of one private network is included in the network address of the other, a new network address table is created such that the two private networks can use different network addresses in the VPN tunnel. With respect to data packets being transmitted from the host of the first private network, or from the second private network, an address is translated based on the new network address table, and therefore, the translated address is forwarded.
