Patent number: 9659976Abstract: Deterioration of display quality due to a difference of leak current in each pixel is suppressed. A pixel 30G includes a pixel capacitor 36 and a switching element 14 which controls supplying and blocking of voltage with respect to the pixel capacitor 36, and modulates irradiation light of a first wavelength (530 nm) according to the voltage of the pixel capacitor 36. A pixel 30R includes the pixel capacitor 36 and the switching element 14 that controls supplying and blocking of voltage with respect to the pixel capacitor 36, and modulates irradiation light of a second wavelength (620 nm) which is longer than the first wavelength according to the voltage of the pixel capacitor 36. A capacitance value of the pixel capacitor 36 of the pixel 30G is larger than a capacitance value of the pixel capacitor 36 of the pixel 30R.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2014Date of Patent: May 23, 2017Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventors: Hirotaka Kawata, Junichi Taira

Patent number: 9204136Abstract: A display device includes a backlight unit, a light guiding plate which is overlappingly arranged on an optical panel, light emitting elements which are arranged on the side surface of the light guiding plate, and a light source driving unit which drives the light emitting elements. The light source driving unit intermittently turns on all of the light emitting elements when displaying a 3D image on the optical panel. In contrast to this, when displaying a 2D image on the optical panel, each light emitting intensity of the light emitting elements in a part of rows is set to be the same as that in a 3D mode, and each light emitting intensity of the light emitting elements in a part of rows other than that is set to be lower than that in the 3D mode.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2013Date of Patent: December 1, 2015Assignee: SEIKO EPSON CORPORATIONInventors: Yoichi Momose, Nobutaka Urano, Junichi Taira

Patent number: 5959399Abstract: After adhesive resin is applied to a surface of a flat panel, a front panel is glued thereto. One side of the front panel is contacted to the adhesive resin layer with the front panel tilted toward the surface of the flat panel. Then, the front panel is moved slowly to be close and parallel to the front panel. Finally, the front panel is pressed to the surface of the flat panel. Afterward, the adhesive resin is hardened. It is preferable that the thickness of the adhesive resin applied to the surface of the flat panel is decreasing from the side to which the side of the front panel is contacted, to the opposite side. By the above-mentioned method, an image display apparatus having multilayer structure comprising of a flat panel for displaying image, an adhesive resin layer and a front panel can be manufactured efficiently.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1997Date of Patent: September 28, 1999Assignee: Matsushita Electronics CorporationInventors: Nozomu Arimoto, Takami Okamoto, Mutsuo Masuda, Hideaki Maki, Atsushi Suzuki, Tsutomu Utsumi, Tetsu Ebihara, Junichi Taira
