  • Publication number: 20070229706
Abstract: As the number of contents which a user can access (TV programs, images stored on HDD or Internet news) is increasing, the contents a viewer wishes to view is becoming increasingly diverse, and consequently the question of how to view these contents efficiently is now a major problem. In other words, this huge volume of broadcast content also contains information which the user does not require, and it is difficult to efficiently acquire only the required information without any error.

  • Publication number: 20070139172
Abstract: A remote control device is provided which has a plurality of LEDs arranged on different surfaces of its body and a means for transmitting different signals from the different LEDs corresponding to direction buttons. The signal receiving unit of a target device to be operated, such as a television, receives a signal from only one LED as a valid signal according to the direction in which the remote control device is held. Different direction signals corresponding to “up”, “down”, “left” and “right” are received according to the direction in which the remote control device is held. Thus the remote control device can move the cursor on GUI up, down, left or right, without requiring the operator to consider the direction in which the remote control device is held.

  • Publication number: 20060239640
Abstract: There are growing needs to efficiently programs desired to be viewed from among contents spreading to a channel direction and a time axis direction. However, GUI having a hierarchical structure and requiring numerous button operations require users to perform several complicated operations to view desired image contents. The present invention displays plural programs on one screen to make it easy for users to find programs desired to be viewed from among plural programs. The present invention has a means for controlling time information of reproduced images, and displays recorded images when a control time is older than a current time, program information guide (EPG) when the control time is later than the current time, and programs being broadcast when the control time is the current time.

  • Publication number: 20060103627
Abstract: The conventional mirror shows only a reflected image. For example, a user who looks at the same mirror at a face-washing place at home every day can see only the similar reflected image. The present invention provides an information displaying device capable of displaying information which can be displayed by the primary function and information which can be displayed by another function on the same display unit. The information displaying device includes a projector for projecting video, a display unit for displaying the video, and a diffusion layer attached to the display unit for diffusing the light projected from the projector. The display unit displays not only a reflected image on the front side of display surface but also video and characters projected by the projector from the rear side of the display unit.
