  • Patent number: 5329567
Abstract: A linear accelerator having an X-ray head for emanating X-rays and a CT scanner are provided opposite to each other. The X-ray head is provided to be rotated about a horizontal axis, and such that the X-rays intersect the horizontal axis at an isocenter. A treatment couch is movably mounted on a base. After CT scanning, the treatment couch is moved onto a turntable beneath the X-ray head of the linear accelerator by the base, so that an affected part of a patient, of which position is stored in a memory at CT scanning, may coincide with the isocenter in accordance with the stored position.

  • Patent number: 4338945
Abstract: System for generating electrical pulses for relieving the pain of the patient comprising a pulse generator and a controller for modulating the parameters of the output pulses of the pulse generator to fluctuate in accordance with the 1/f rule; i.e. the spectral density of the fluctuation varies inversely with the frequency.

  • Patent number: 4331910
Abstract: A positioning control system which has a servo system provided with a position feedback system for detected positional information and a velocity feedback system for detected velocity information of a motor and in which the motor is driven by the servo system in accordance with commanded positional information to position a movable machine part of a numerical-controlled machine. The disparity between the detected velocity of the movable machine part and the detected motor velocity is fed back to the control input side of the motor, thereby suppressing vibration of the movable machine part at the moment of completion of the positioning operation.

  • Patent number: 4147161
Abstract: System for measuring or monitoring the intracranial pressure which comprises a non-elastic detecting pouch to be inserted into the space between the skull and the cerebrum, a flexible tube connected to the pouch, a device for supplying a liquid into the pouch through the flexible tube and a device for measuring the pressure of the liquid in the pouch. When the pressure of the liquid reaches the intracranial pressure, the curve showing relation between liquid pressure vs. pouch volume flattens. Thus, by measuring the pressure of the flattened region, intracranial pressure may be determined.

  • Patent number: 3947684
Abstract: In the isocount scintiscanning, the detector probe is scanned over the object plane such that it is stopped at each observation point during the time T necessary for the input pulses to reach a preset value N. The count rate R = N/T is then calculated electronically and the two-dimensional array of said count rate R.sub.i,j, output of said isocount scanner, is read in the memory of the display system, which is the subject to the present patent. These data are read out from said memory in synchronism with the television horizontal sweep signal; each value of count rate R.sub.i,j is compared to a reference slice level a.sub.k and if R.sub.i,j .gtoreq.a.sub.k, black is assigned to the corresponding picture element on the screen; if R.sub.i,j <a.sub.k, white is assigned to the corresponding element on the screen. If said slice level a.sub.
