  • Publication number: 20070258009
Abstract: Plural shots in a picture are classified into plural groups based on a similarity between the shots, and further, the shots particularly similar to each other in the group are linked to each other, to be hierarchically arranged, as shown in the drawings. For example, in a group A in the drawings, a representative frame “KA1” in a shot “A1” is intra-encoded, and then, all of respective representative frames “SA21”, “SA22”, and “SA23” in shots “A21”, “A22”, and “A23” in one lower hierarchy are subjected to prediction encoding using the frame “KA1”. In the same manner, representative frames in the shots are subjected to the prediction encoding using a representative frame in one upper hierarchy in the same group in a daisy-chain manner. Frames other than the representative frames are subjected to the prediction encoding using a representative frame to which the frame belongs.

  • Patent number: 5798751
Abstract: This image processing apparatus processes image data obtained by interlace scanning. This apparatus comprises a predictor for predicting pixel data of a next field from the pixel data of one of the first and second fields to produce predictive pixel data, an error detection circuit for issuing an error signal having a level corresponding to the difference between the predictive pixel data and the pixel data of the other field, and a selection section for selectively outputting the pixel data of the other field when the level of the error signal is equal to or lower than a predetermined level and selectively outputting the predictive pixel data when the level of the error signal is higher than the predetermined level. The selected pixel data is transferred as the pixel data of the other field to a coding circuit. This apparatus can execute excellent coding even when the vertical discontinuity occurs in moving areas in a frame image due to the scanning time difference between fields.

  • Patent number: 4761693
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing method and device using a rotary head with two reproducing heads and two corresponding recording heads whereby slanted tracks are formed on the tape, each consisting of several sequential recording tracks. The reproducing heads are arranged to precede the corresponding recording heads by at least three fields (slanted track) so that a new audio signal can be input at the same time as the output of the audio signal from a given recording track and then recorded in that given track.

  • Patent number: 4610008
Abstract: A disc playing system for playing discs selected from a plurality of stored discs in succession, includes a disc storing part in which a plurality of disc storing slots are provided, a transportation means movable along a direction of arrangement of discs in the disc storing part, for transporting a selected disc from a disc storing slot to a playing position and vice versa, in which the disc storing part is provided is a plurality of guide members for guiding the disc transportation means into each of the disc storing slots, and a swingable member is provided to the transportation means, so that the selected disc is surely picked up from the storing slot and returned thereto. Due to this feature, the spaces between each disc stored in the disc storing part are reduced, and in turn the time required for changing the disc is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4539663
Abstract: An automatic disc playing system for playing selected ones of a plurality of discs stored therein in succession, includes a disc storing part for holding the discs, having a plurality of slots juxtaposed in a predetermined direction, a detection means for detecting the presence or absence of a disc in each of the slot, and a memory means for memorizing the number of vacant slots in accordance with the output signal of the detection means. The detection means is made up of a plurality of members provided to each of the slots, to be shifted when a disc is put in the slot, and a sensor means to be moved along the direction of the arrangement of the slots for detecting the position of each of the members provided to the slots.
