  • Patent number: 6766268
Abstract: A distribution of bending principal strains giving a target shape of a curved surface is obtained (Step S1), and a calculation grid is divided along the direction of the bending principal strains (Step S2). A database storing actual measurement values of relations between heating conditions and deformation amounts is prepared (Step S3). The directions of the bending principal strains are divided into the directions of the maximum and minimum bending principal strains (Step S4) for each calculation grid. Then, a heating condition for obtaining a bending strain satisfying the maximum bending principal strain is obtained by a heating line perpendicular to the direction of the maximum bending principal strain, and a membrane strain generated accompanying with heating in this case is obtained by referring to the database (Step S5).

  • Patent number: 5312301
Abstract: The present invention provides a bicycle front derailleur comprising: a movable member including an inner and outer guide plates opposed to each other to define a guide space through which a chain runs; the movable member being moved laterally of a bicycle for shifting the chain. • Patent number: 5251551
Abstract: A calendering apparatus in which a nip portion is formed by a chilled roll, a backing roll and an endless elastic belt arranged over the backing roll, wherein a paper sheet to be treated passes between the chilled roll and the endless elastic belt. Thus, a paper sheet having a remarkably improved smoothness and gloss can be obtained by the calendering apparatus of the present invention using an endless elastic belt having a relatively long length, without the disadvantage of a heat build-up occurring in a usual calendering treatment. A contacting angle between the belt and the backing roll is 30.degree. or less.

  • Patent number: 5162022
Abstract: A bicycle multiple sprocket assembly comprises at least two adjacent sprockets which include a larger sprocket and a smaller sprocket. A chain takes a shifting path extending from a selected furrow of the smaller sprocket toward a selected furrow of the larger sprocket at the time of shifting from the smaller sprocket to the larger sprocket. At least two teeth of the larger sprocket immediately following the selected furrow of the larger sprocket with respect to the forward rotational direction of the sprocket assembly are rendered circumferentially asymmetric. The leading edge of each asymmetric tooth is provided with a support face which is offset rearwardly for supporting the shifting chain adjacent a chain link connection.

  • Patent number: 5133695
Abstract: A bicycle multiple chainwheel is provided which is mounted on a pedal crank for transmitting a rider's pedalling force to a rear gear through a chain. The chainwheel has the following configuration to prevent a chain from being locked to a diametrically larger sprocket or from prematurely disengaging from the larger sprocket before completely shifting to a diametrically smaller sprocket. The larger sprocket has circumferentially asymmetric teeth located in at least one of diametrically opposite angular regions which contain a diametrical line of the larger sprocket extending along crank arms of the pedal crank, each of the asymmetric teeth being offset relative to a corresponding pitch center in the forward rotational direction of the chainwheel in comparison with the other normal teeth of the larger sprocket.

  • Patent number: 5104358
Abstract: The present invention provides a bicycle front derailleur comprising a base member fixed to the seat tube of a bicycle frame, an inner link member, an outer link member, and a movable member having a chain guide, these members being interconnected by pins to form a parallelogrammatic pantographic link mechanism. The link mechanism is biased by a spring so as to return the movable member toward a smallest sprocket of a multiple chainwheel included in a multi-chainwheel assembly, and is deformed against the spring by a cable for a speed change. The cable is connected to the free end of an actuating arm extending from the upper end of the inner link member toward the outer link member to upwardly pull and pivotally move the actuating arm.The actuating arm therefore forms no upward projection beyond the link mechanism, while the cable can be made to extend upward to a shift lever over a shortened distance with a reduced number of bent portions.

  • Patent number: 5037355
Abstract: The present invention provides a bicycle front derailleur mounted close above a multiple chainwheel for shifting the chain from one sprocket to another of the chainwheel. The derailleur comprises a parallelogrammic linkage mechanism deformably mounted to a seat tube of the bicycle frame, and a chain guide carried by the linkage mechanism. The linkage mechanism is always biased by a return spring in a direction to move the chain guide laterally away from the seat tube. The linkage mechanism includes an inner link and an outer link. The outer link has an upper end formed with an actuating arm extending laterally toward the seat tube for connection to a control cable which is used to pull up the actuating arm for deforming the linkage mechanism against the return spring.

  • Patent number: 4991013
Abstract: An apparatus for processing video signals to produce a combined picture video signal from which a large picture and one or more small pictures being inset in the large picture are simultaneously reproduced on a display screen. Video signals providing image information for small pictures are stored in a memory mainly on the basis of a storage control signal produced from a result of a phase comparison between a reference signal and a vertical sync signal separated from each of the video signals providing image information for small pictures. The reference signal has pulses recurrent with a period twice the repetition period of pulses of the vertical sync signal in the video signal or identical with the repetition period of pulses of a horizontal sync signal in the video signal, and assumes a relatively high level and a relatively low level alternately with a duty factor of 50%.

  • Patent number: 4988328
Abstract: The present invention provides a bicycle multiple chainwheel to be mounted on a pedalling crank assembly. The chainwheel, which is held in driving engagement with a chain, comprises a larger sprocket and at least one smaller sprocket coaxial with the larger sprocket. When shifting the chain from the larger sprocket to the smaller sprocket, the chain normally starts disengaging from the larger sprocket at one of specific circumferential positions thereof. In view of this, the larger sprocket is made to have local chain guide portions only at those positions necessary for preventing the thus disengaged chain from being trapped in an axial gap between the larger and smaller sprockets.
