  • Publication number: 20240017133
Abstract: A golf club head includes a face portion including a hitting face, a sole portion, a crown portion, and a hosel portion. The sole portion includes a center thin-wall part and an outer thick-wall part that is formed on a sole outer edge side of the center thin-wall part and is thicker than the center thin-wall part. The outer thick-wall part includes a first thick-wall part that is formed over a region including a position of a center of gravity of the head in a face-back direction, and a second thick-wall part that is positioned on a back side of the first thick-wall part and is thicker than the first thick-wall part. The outer thick-wall part of the sole portion may further include a third thick-wall part that is positioned on the back side of the second thick-wall part and is thinner than the second thick-wall part.

  • Patent number: 11666808
Abstract: A golf club head includes a club face, a crown, a leading edge, and a heel portion. The crown includes a first portion being adjacent to the club face, and a second portion being located backwardly of the first portion and connected to the first portion. The second portion is located below the first portion via a step portion. The first portion includes a face-vicinity portion extending in a toe-heel direction along the club face, and a heel-vicinity portion connected to a heel-side end portion of the face-vicinity portion and extending backwardly of the head along a heel-side contour of the crown. In a head plan view, a length A in a head front-back direction from the leading edge to a back-side end of the heel-vicinity portion is equal to or more than 70% of a maximum length B of the head in the head front-back direction.

  • Publication number: 20230080945
Abstract: A state of a golf club head placed such that a shaft axis line is vertical to a horizontal plane and a normal line is parallel to a first perpendicular plane on which the shaft axis line lies is defined as a 0-degree state. A direction parallel to the first perpendicular plane and parallel to the horizontal plane is defined as a projection direction. A projected area of the head projected in the projection direction when the head is rotated by ?°about the shaft axis line toward a back side from the 0-degree state is denoted by WA?. WA? is divided by the shaft axis line into a first region (having an area denoted by Af?) and a second region (having an area denoted by Ab?), and a difference (Af?-Ab?) is denoted by S?. S90 is -4500 (mm2) or less. S15 is 4700 (mm2) or less.

  • Publication number: 20220233921
Abstract: A golf club head includes a face portion that forms a striking face, a crown portion, a sole portion, and a hosel portion. The striking face has a face center. The sole portion includes a toe protruding portion that is a protruding portion provided on a toe side with respect to the face center and is hollow. The toe protruding portion is not present on a heel side with respect to the face center. The toe protruding portion is formed so as to be continuous with the face portion. The height of the toe protruding portion at its apex may be greater than or equal to 1.5 mm and less than or equal to 8 mm. The golf club head is excellent in rebound performance. In the golf club head, the rebound performance can be improved by deformation of the toe protruding portion at impact.

  • Publication number: 20220226699
Abstract: A head includes a face portion, a crown portion, a sole portion, and a hosel portion. The crown portion includes a protruding portion on a crown outer surface. The protruding portion does not form any part of an outer contour line of the head in a front view of the head as viewed from a face side. The protruding portion forms an outer contour line of the head in a heel projection figure in which the head that is placed on a ground plane such that a shaft axis line is perpendicular to the ground plane and a face angle is 0° is viewed from a heel side along the ground plane. In this head, aerodynamic drag and lifting force at position 9 can be increased. In this head, air resistance at position 6 can be suppressed.
