  • Publication number: 20070169871
Abstract: A pneumatic tire is provided which enables durability thereof to be improved by preventing oxidation degradation of belt layers. In the pneumatic tire, a carcass layer is laid between a pair of bead portions so that the carcass layer links the bead portions, an air penetration preventing layer is disposed on the inner surface of the tire along the carcass layer, and belt layers are buried in a tread portion at the side of the outer periphery of the carcass layer. In the pneumatic tire, a cord layer, which is formed by repeatedly winding a cord in the tire circumferential direction, is disposed between the carcass layer and the belt layers, and at least one portion of the cord layer is made close to the outer surface of the tire so that a distance between the cord and the outer surface of the tire is not longer than 2 mm.

  • Publication number: 20070174002
Abstract: An apparatus and method acquires acceleration data in a time series of a predetermined site of the tire during traveling of the vehicle, and removes an acceleration component due to a deformation of the tire from the acquired acceleration data to obtain a modified acceleration data, and performs frequency analysis of the modified acceleration data to obtain a frequency spectrum, and obtains an accumulated value of the frequency spectrum, and calculating a braking distance parameter for predicting a braking distance based on the obtained accumulated value, and obtains a predicted value of the braking distance of the vehicle based on the braking distance parameter calculated in the calculating part.

  • Publication number: 20070164853
Abstract: An apparatus and method derives a deformation amount of a contact-portion of the tire based on the tire information, the contact-portion being in contact with the ground, and calculates an evaluation value based on the derived deformation amount, and comparing the calculated evaluation value with a reference value to determine whether or not the internal mechanical failure has occurred in the tire.

  • Publication number: 20070144655
Abstract: A pneumatic tire which facilitates separation of a rubber layer and is excellent in recyclability and retreadability and a method of scrapping the same. A pneumatic tire comprises a partition layer buried adjacent to a rubber layer, the partition layer including at least one cord repeatedly bent to turn around at its bent portion and arranged in a plane and rubber portions interposed between adjacent portions of the cord. Herein, the cord is arranged in a direction intersecting with the tire circumferential direction. The cord of the partition layer is pulled in an in-plane direction of the partition layer to sequentially cut the rubber portions interposed between the adjacent portions of the cord. The rubber layer adjacent to the partition layer is thus separated.

  • Publication number: 20070088930
Abstract: The present invention provides a storage control system that can prevent capacity in a cache memory from being overloaded even when the access performance of a controller in a storage controller to an external storage device in an external storage controller is permanently or temporarily poor. In the storage control system, a first storage controller is connected to a storage device in a second storage controller and the first storage controller is configured to be able to write/read data to/from the storage device in the second storage controller in response to a request from a host device connected to the first storage controller.

  • Publication number: 20070084276
Abstract: A method and apparatus derives a change amount in the cumulative value of displacement for the unit of time as a change ratio in tire deformation by using the cumulative value of displacement derived present time and the cumulative value of displacement derived last time, and calculate a rate of change ratio using the change ratio in tire deformation previously calculated as a reference value and the change ratio calculated present time, and determine a cornering stability of the wheel that represents a degree of a margin in which the wheel keeps no sliding and beyond which the wheel start sliding based on the rate of change ratio.

  • Patent number: 5534103
Abstract: Proposed is a method for bonding of a ceramic body and a metallic body at a relatively low temperature not to cause substantial deformation or material degradation of the ceramic and metallic materials. The surface of the ceramic body is first irradiated with laser beams in vacuum so that the inorganic non-volatile constituent of the ceramic material, e.g. silicon when the ceramic is silicon nitride, is isolated on the surface of the ceramic body forming a layer. Thereafter, the metallic body is brought into contact with and pressed in vacuum against the thus laser beam-irradiated area of the ceramic body under an adequate pressing force and at an elevated but relatively low temperature which is, for example, not higher than 0.5Tm .degree.C., Tm .degree.C. being the melting point of the metallic material, so that the ceramic and metallic bodies are firmly bonded together.

  • Patent number: 5230348
Abstract: A guide wire for a catheter is disclosed that includes a core wire and a sheath for covering at least the distal end of the core wire. The core wire is formed from a nickel-titanium alloy having a nickel-titanium ratio in the range of 3:2 to 1:1. The core wire is worked in a manner such that in a tensile test wherein the core wire is elongated by at least 5%, the core wire has a recovery percentage of at least 90%. Additionally, elongations in the range of zero and 5% do not cause any stress-induced martensitic transformations and/or austinite reverse transformations. Thus, the load-elongation characteristics of the nickel-titanium alloy are such that the load increasing rate is either proportional or gradually decreasing throughout the elongation range of 0 to 5%.

  • Patent number: 4947463
Abstract: A spraying material is fed to and melted in a high energy density zone formed by converging a laser beam therein with a converging lens or a mirror, and the molten spraying material is rendered into particles by jetting a carrier gas stream such that the axis thereof crosses the axis of the laser beam in the high energy density zone to blow the particles of the molten spraying material against a base surface disposed to be normal to the carrier gas stream axis beyond the high energy density zone so as to form a film of the spraying material on the surface.
