  • Patent number: 5362530
Abstract: A composite hose is disclosed which is constructed essentially with an inner tube and an outer cover, the inner tube being formed from a composition comprised of a specified polymer alloy of a selected class of polyamide resins and acrylic rubbers and the outer cover from a composition comprised of a specified thermoplastic elastomer of a selected class of polyolefin resins and ethylene-propylene-diene rubbers and butyl-based rubber. Impermeability is greatly improved with respect to refrigerant gases and fuel oils.

  • Patent number: 4950436
Abstract: A process is disclosed for producing a composite hose constructed with a core tube, a reinforcement layer and a cover laminated one on another, the core being made up of a resin inner wall and a rubber outer wall. Gas impermeability and flexibility are enhanced by formation of the inner wall on a mandrel of selected synthetic material and specified bending strength.

  • Patent number: 4905736
Abstract: Hoses for transporting or otherwise handling refrigerant and oil fluids are disclosed which are comprised of an inner tube, an outer cover and a reinforcing layer interposed therebetween. The inner tube includes at least two walls, one being an inner resinous wall and the other being an outer rubbery wall having specified moduli at 100%. The outer cover is formed by a selected class of rubbers having a higher modulus at 100% than the outer wall of the inner tube. The resulting hose is securely interconnectable with metal fittings, highly impermeable to gaseous and oily fluids, sufficiently resistant to stress cracking and adequately flexible.

  • Patent number: 4881576
Abstract: A hose for refrigerant fluid or fuel oil service which comprises a core tube, a reinforcing layer and an outer cover, the core tube being of a composite structure having an inner plastic peripheral wall, an intermediate plastic peripheral wall and an outer rubbery peripheral wall. The inner and intermediate walls are formed of a selected class of polyamides and polyolefins, whereby the hose is rendered highly impermeable to fluid and moisture, greatly resistant to stress cracking and sufficiently flexible.

  • Patent number: 4880036
Abstract: A hose for transporting or otherwise handling refrigerants is disclosed which comprises an inner tube, an outer cover and a reinforcing layer disposed therebetween, the inner tube including a resinous inner wall and a rubbery outer peripheral wall. The inner peripheral wall is formed by a selected class of polymers having specified compositions, whereby the hose is rendered highly resistant to gas permeation and stress cracking and highly flexible and moisture-proofing.

  • Patent number: 4862923
Abstract: A hose for auomotive air-conditioning, transporting or otherwise handling refrigerants is disclosed which comprises an inner and an outer cover and a reinforcement disposed therebetween, the inner tube including an inner and an outer peripheral wall and a polyamide layer laminated therebetween. The inner and outer peripheral walls have a specified range of elasticity, and the polyamide layer has a specified thickness, whereby the hose is rendered highly resistant to heat, moisture-permeation and refrigerant-permeable, and flexible, and further free of damage from creeps or cracks from dynamic fatigue in the vicinity of metal fitting applied on the hose.

  • Patent number: 4287626
Abstract: A flexible anchor buoy includes a tube for the passage therethrough of an anchor chain, a core pipe fixed perpendicularly to the tube, and a pair of resilient buoyant bodies disposed around the core pipe one on each side of the tube and separated from the tube. The resilient buoyant bodies are enclosed by a pair of flexible coverings, respectively. When the anchor buoy is held against a ship and locally compressed under the weight of an anchor, the buoyant bodies flex relatively freely without being stressed by the tube.
