Abstract: A method and apparatus for 2D image and 3D stereoscopic image display are provided. The apparatus includes a display unit to display an image; and a controller to receive a display mode setting signal and to control the display unit according to the received display mode setting signal. The display unit is controlled to display the image in accordance with any one of a 2D display mode, a polarizing glasses 3D display mode, a shutter glasses 3D display mode, and a non-glasses 3D display mode. The method includes receiving a display mode setting signal; reading information stored in a memory, the stored information corresponding to an operation of the switching display panel according to a plurality of display modes, the read information corresponding to the display mode setting signal; and generating a control signal to operate the switching display panel in correspondence to a selected display mode.

Abstract: A backlight unit and a display apparatus are provided, the display apparatus including: a display panel on which an image is displayed; and a backlight unit which provides backlight to the display panel, the backlight unit including a plurality of light guide plates, a plurality of substrates which are respectively disposed on at least two surfaces of the corresponding plurality of light guide plates, and a plurality of light emitting units which are respectively disposed between the plurality of light guide plates, and respectively disposed on a surface of the corresponding plurality of substrates. Therefore, a heat radiating surface of a backlight unit is broadened, thereby improving a heat radiating effect and causing the backlight unit to be assembled easily.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed which can shape fruits and root and tuberous vegetables. The shaping apparatus is operated in such a manner that: when root and tuberous vegetable or fruit is placed in a cutting blade case and rotated, the object is spirally tracked and the spirally tracked object is removed from the lower side of the cutting blade case, so that the spirally tracked object is picked up by an additional stick and then ornamented into various forms. The shaping apparatus allows fruits and root and tuberous vegetables to be easily treated in a variety of ways, as per the second process, thereby enhancing the product value of processed foodstuffs produced from the first process.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device is provided. The liquid crystal display device includes a light-shielding member to prevent light irradiated upward from a light-emitting surface of a plurality of light-emitting diodes from being incident on a lower edge of an incident surface of a light-guide portion. As a result, a bezel surrounding a liquid crystal display panel may be made thinner, and a bright line defect, hot spot, may be prevented.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device is provided. The liquid crystal display device includes at least one light-emitting surface mounted in a printed circuit board such that the light-emitting surface directs upward, and a side frame provided with a reflective surface to refract light from the light-emitting surface at a predetermined position and thus allow the light to be incident at a side of a light-guide portion. The light-emitting diode is arranged such that one side thereof contacts an inner surface of the side frame, thus minimizing a width of a bezel portion and preventing light loss.
