    Abstract: A method of producing a soft magnetic material includes spray drying a slurry containing Fe and X to obtain granules having an average particle size in a range of at least 20 ?m but not more than 200 ?m, where X represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Mn, Ni, Co, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Cu, Zn, and Si; and heat-treating the granules in a reducing gas at a temperature in a range of at least 800° C. but not higher than 1200° C. to obtain a heat-treated product.
