Patent number: 8991381Abstract: The present invention provides a method of cutting a workpiece efficiently with high accuracy by utilizing tension adjusters to approximate tension in a wire in a wire saw to a predetermined target tension while effectively reducing only tension in a winder-side wire. The method comprises a forward-driven cutting step of cutting a workpiece while moving a wire forward, a first switching step of reversing a driving direction of the wire, a backward-driven cutting step of cutting the workpiece while moving the wire backward, and a second switching step of reversing a driving direction of the wire and returning to the forward-driven cutting step, the steps being repeated in this order. In both switching steps, only tension in a winder-side wire is reduced by tension manipulators. A reduction in target wire tension therefor is performed after completion of deceleration of the wire in each switching step.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2010Date of Patent: March 31, 2015Assignee: Toyo Advanced Technologies Co., Ltd.Inventors: Jun Ohya, Tatsumi Hamasaki, Hiroyuki Yoshimura, Masaru Fukuman

Patent number: 7196995Abstract: Processing to confirm management information during starting processing of a disk device is completely executed in a short period of time without scanning a data area to thereby minimize the period of time for the starting processing. The management information confirming processing can be executed after the disk device notifies the condition to the host or the user. Therefore, the response characteristic of the disk device is improved. Authentication information to certify that management information recorded on a disk is valid and invalidating information to invalidate the authentication information are provided. When the invalidating information to invalidate the authentication information is present, it is possible to determine that the management information is invalid or is possibly invalid. When the invalidating information to invalidate the authentication information is absent, it is possible to determine that the management information is valid according to the authentication information.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2003Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tatsuya Ishitobi, Hiroaki Ono, Jun Ohya

Publication number: 20040136730Abstract: An angle modulating portion 1 converts an inputted electrical signal into a predetermined angle-modulated signal. An optical modulating portion 2 converts the angle-modulated signal outputted from the angle modulating portion 1 into an optical-modulated signal and sends the optical-modulated signal to an optical waveguide portion 3. An interference portion 6 separates the optical-modulated signal transmitted through the optical waveguide portion 3 into two optical signals having predetermined difference in propagation delay and then combines the optical signals. An optical/electrical converting portion 4 subjects the combined optical signal to homodyne detection, to acquire a demodulated signal of the original electrical signal and output the electrical signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2004Publication date: July 15, 2004Inventors: Masaru Fuse, Jun Ohya
