Abstract: A lyophilized pharmaceutical composition comprised of a neocarzinostatin derivative having the formula (SMA)-(NCS)-(SMA), is made by a method including dissolving the neocarzinostatin derivative and stabilizing agent comprising at least one saccharide selected from the group consisting of monosaccharides, disaccharides and dextran in an aqueous buffer solution having a pH ranging from about 7.5 to about 9.5, the stabilizing agent being present in an amount by weight (titer) which is at least equal to that of the neocarzinostatin derivative, to provide a solution; adjusting the pH of the solution to provide a pH-adjusted solution having a pH of about 8.0.+-.0.5; sterilizing the pH-adjusted solution by filtration to provide a sterilized solution; and lyophilizing the sterilized solution.

Abstract: A tuning peg for stringed instruments having a core shaft which is rotated as a string spool shaft by a manually-operated knob and an outer sleeve which is externally mounted on the core shaft. The top surface of the core shaft is formed as a string receiving surface and at least the lower part of the core shaft is formed as a threaded pulling part. At least the lower part of the outer sleeve is made as an internal thread part which engages with the threaded pulling of the core shaft and the trunk part of the outer sleeve is provided with a string passing hole which is open in the orthogonal direction to the axis of the outer sleeve and the ceiling surface of the string passing hole inside the outer sleeve is formed as a string pushing surface. When a string is passed through the string passing hole and the knob is rotated, the outer sleeve lowers and the string pushing surface pushes the string onto the string receiving surface.

Abstract: There is disclosed a dry, stabilized oral pharmaceutical formulation containing a prostaglandin E group prepared from a lyophilized composition comprising a prostaglandin E group and at least a member selected from the group consisting of a thiol compound, dextrin, dextran, a lower alkyl cellulose, and a water-soluble salt of deoxycholic acid.

Abstract: There is provided a process of preparing a prostaglandin E group-containing formulation by adding to a prostaglandin E group at least one additive selected from the group consisting of thiol compound, a water-soluble high molecular weight compound, and a water-soluble salt of deoxycholic acid and then subjecting the mixture to lyophilization.
