    Abstract: Proposed is a reliable and cost-effective universal material tester with reduced cross-talk between the sensors. The sensor unit consists of a pressure-sensor unit that measures a vertical force applied to the test probe during movement of the test probe relative to the test specimen and a horizontal force sensor unit for measuring the horizontally directed friction force. The horizontal force sensor unit is made in the form of a flexible parallelogram consisting of two sensor-holding plates interconnected through flexible beams, wherein one end of the first beam is attached to the upper sensor-holding plate and the opposite end to the lower sensor-holding plate, while one end of the second beam is attached to the lower sensor-holding plate and the other to the upper one. The beams are installed with gaps relative to both plates. The tester has a quick-release test probe that incorporates a soft-touch feature.

    Abstract: A method for coordinating distributed network address translation (NAT) in a network within which several logical networks are implemented. The logical networks include several tenant logical networks and at least one service logical network that include service virtual machines (VMs) that are accessed by VMs of the tenant logical networks. The method defines a group of replacement IP address and port number pairs. Each pair is used to uniquely identify a VM across all tenant logical networks. The method sends to at least one host that is hosting a VM of a particular tenant logical network, a set of replacement IP address and port number pairs. Each replacement IP address and port number pair can be used by the host to replace a source IP address and a source port number in a packet that is destined from the particular VM to a VM of the particular service logical network.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for implementing private allocated networks in a virtual infrastructure are presented. One method operation creates virtual switches in one or more hosts in the virtual infrastructure. Each port in the virtual switches is associated with a private allocated network (PAN) from a group of possible PANs. In one embodiment, one or more PANs share the same physical media for data transmission. The intranet traffic within each PAN is not visible to nodes that are not connected to the each PAN. In another operation, the method defines addressing mode tables for the intranet traffic within each PAN. The entries in the addressing mode tables define addressing functions for routing the intranet traffic between the virtual switches, and different types of addressing functions are supported by the virtual switches.

A sample secured on a sample table, which is supported by a replaceable tribology drive unit on an X-stage that may position the sample under the microscope, interferometer, or test unit. Depending on the type of the test, the replaceable tribology unit may impart to the sample either a linear reciprocating movement or a rotating movement. The apparatus may operate in an automatic mode and is provided with a central processing unit that control movements of all moveable units through respective drivers via controllers connected to the central processing unit.

    Abstract: A method for a host machine that hosts at least one tenant virtual machine (VM) of a particular tenant logical network that accesses service VMs of a particular service logical network. The method, prior to a packet being received at a PFE on the host, intercepts the packet that sent by the tenant VM to one of the service VMs based on a set of forwarding rules. The packet includes a source IP address and a source port number of the tenant VM. The method, prior to the packet leaving the PFE in the host, replaces the source IP address and source port number with a replacement IP address and port number pair from a set of replacement IP address and port number pairs allocated to the host for accessing service VMs. The method sends the modified packet to the PFE to forward the modified packet to the service VM.

In an exemplary aspect, the tag portion, anchor portion and the tether portion of the tag are formed as an integral structure. The unique identifier is a two-dimensional code, that is printed as an inversed image to provide improved network security and prevent reading of the unique identifiers by unapproved reading devices.

    Abstract: A circuit for control of time for read operation is disclosed which additionally incorporates a dummy device circuit and a dummy sensitive amplifier circuit, uses a current mirror circuit to mirror a reference current in a reference device circuit into the dummy device circuit to generate a mirrored current, and generates time control signals based on the mirrored current. Due to the same adaptation of the mirrored current to the size of a test device as the reference current, the time control signals are also adapted to the size of the test device. This addresses the problem of fixed time control signals arising from the use of a conventional RC relay circuit and enables the time control signals to change with the size of the test device as well as Process Voltage Temperature, thereby resulting in an effective reduction in average energy consumed in read operation.

The pattern is provided by first and second portions of a patterned layer, the first portions selectively filtering at least a portion of blue visible light from other visible light wavelengths. Filtering in the portion of the blue region helps make the pattern inconspicuous. The tags may also include an indicia layer configured to mark a location of the pattern, and a contrast enhancing layer disposed behind the patterned layer and configured to enhance a contrast of the pattern. In some cases, the first portions of the patterned layer may filter optical wavelengths other than blue, such as near-infrared light. The pattern may comprise machine-readable information, e.g., a linear bar code or a 2-D bar code. Associated methods and systems are also disclosed.
