    Abstract: A display device for receiving and displaying an image signal is disclosed. The display device comprises a display screen, a light sensor, a light information determining unit, an image analysis unit, a luminance determining unit, and a control unit. The light sensor is installed near the display screen for detecting an ambient luminance level. The light information determining unit is utilized for determining a first luminance adjusting value according to the ambient luminance. The image analysis unit is utilized for analyzing the image signal to obtain a color level value. The luminance determining unit is utilized for calculating a second luminance adjusting value according to the color level value, and for determining a final luminance adjusting value according to the first luminance adjusting value and the second luminance adjusting value. The control unit is utilized for adjusting the luminance of the display screen according to the final luminance adjusting value.
