  • Publication number: 20180105825
Abstract: The present disclosure provides synthetic repressor constructs and the proteins encoded therein, as well as synthetic repressible promoter constructs for use in combination with the synthetic repressor constructs/synthetic repressors disclosed herein. Various combinations of synthetic repressor constructs and synthetic repressible promoter constructs are also provided in synthetic genetic circuits for modifying expression of a protein of interest in a plant cell.

  • Patent number: 6608717
Abstract: A high resolution optical coherence microscope system for visualizing structures below a surface of a biological sample is provided. The system includes a light source emitting light in a wavelength of between 700 and 1500 nm, the light being directed along a sample path and a reference path. The length of at least one of the paths is a modulated path having a selected amplitude of modulation that is equal to or less than about 3 fringes of the wavelength.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 28, 2000
Date of Patent: August 19, 2003
Assignee: Colorado State University Research Foundation

  • Patent number: 5856157
Abstract: Isolation and characterization of a novel plant fatty acid desaturase cDNA that encodes a .DELTA..sup.9 14:0-ACP desaturase. Expression of the .DELTA..sup.9 14:0-ACP desaturase is a critical factor for pest resistance in plants of the genus Pelargonium and other plants generally; the desaturase gene is also useful in other contexts and for other purposes such as increasing the percentage of unsaturated fatty acids in oil-producing crops such as soybeans, rapeseed, maize, sunflower, safflower, cotton, cuphea, peanut, coconut and oil-palm, as well as increasing the percentage of unsaturated fatty acids in other plants generally.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 4, 1997
Date of Patent: January 5, 1999
Assignee: The Penn State Research Foundation
Inventors: Richard Craig, June I. Medford, Ralph O. Mumma, Diana L. Cox-Foster, David Schultz
