    Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for quantifying a coarseness level of an organ of a living body from an ultrasonic image. The method includes: obtaining an ultrasonic image of area of an organ of a living body; determining a target area in the ultrasonic image of area; obtaining a quantified representative coarseness level of the target area from a brightness level distribution of pixels in the target area; and calculating a coarseness level of the organ of a living body, corresponding to the quantified representative coarseness level.
