Abstract: A standby agent apparatus includes an interface and a standby agent controller. The interface is arranged for receiving at least first account information of a first system. The standby agent controller is coupled to the interface. When the first system is operating in a standby mode, the standby agent controller is arranged for keeping an account of the first system on-line in a first application server according to the received first account information of the first system. A connection handling method includes the following steps: receiving first account information of a first system; and when the first system is operating in a standby mode, keeping an account of the first system on-line in a first application server according to the received first account information of the first system.

Abstract: A file system cache method for a device accessing a file system is provided, wherein the device has a processing unit and a cache buffer. The method comprises accessing a folder in the file system, caching information of child folders of a currently accessed folder when accessing a root folder, caching information of parent folders of the current accessed folder when accessing a leaf folder, caching information of at least one parent folder and at least one child folder of the currently accessed folder when accessing a child folder not classified as a leaf folder, and removing cache buffer entries of sibling folders of the currently accessed folder.

Abstract: An object table is provided between a file system interface of a host and a multimedia device so that the host is capable of accessing objects stored in the multimedia device regardless of incompatibility between file formats respectively used in the file system and the multimedia device. At least one index of the stored object is stored in the object table. A file accessing architecture is constructed in the object table, where the file accessing architecture has at least one API recognizable for the file system interface. Therefore, the host is capable of accessing the objects stored in the multimedia device though the file system interface and the constructed file accessing architecture.
