  • Patent number: 6829495
Abstract: A battery pack locking apparatus for a mobile telephone is disclosed, in which a locker is operable with its own mechanical structure without using a separate spring. The battery pack locking apparatus includes a locker movable in a perpendicular direction with respect to a body of the mobile telephone and mounted on a lower casing frame of the mobile telephone, and an elastic member formed on a lower surface of the locker to provide a restitution force to the locker. The elastic member is a zigzag tension rib, which is formed extending downward from the lower surface of the locker such that a free end of the tension rib should be pressingly contact the lower casing frame.

  • Patent number: 6622120
Abstract: A fast search method for LSP (Linear Spectrum Pair) quantization is provided. The fast search method in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes the following steps. A first step is obtaining a target vector and a code vector. The target vector and the code vector are converted for ordering property. A second step is generating a code book having the ordering property for sub-matrices by utilizing the target vector and the code vector. A third step is selecting a particular line for determining a search scope in the code books and sorting the code book in descending order with respect to component values of the particular line. A fourth step is determining the search scope by utilizing the ordering property of the target vector and the sorted code vectors. The fifth step is obtaining an error standard by utilizing the target vector and the code vector, and obtaining an optimal code vector by utilizing the error standard within the determined search scope.

  • Patent number: 6125344
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved pitch modification method by glottal closure interval extrapolation. It is an object of the present invention to modify pitches of speech signals by the glottal closure interval extrapolation and to maintain quality of the modified speech, when concatenating original speech segments to synthesize speech. An input speech signal is converted into a digital speech signal. A glottal closure interval is detected in the digital speech signal so as to estimate vocal tract parameters by using pitch synchronous analysis. Vocal tract characteristic signals of the glottal closure interval and glottal characteristic signals of a glottal open interval are separated from each other according to the detected glottal closure interval. The separated vocal tract characteristic signals are extrapolated and reduced to a desired pitch length by the estimated vocal tract parameter.

  • Patent number: 6088673
Abstract: The present invention provides a text-to-speech conversion system (TTS) for interlocking with multimedia and a method for organizing input data of the TTS which can enhance the natural of synthesized speech and accomplish the synchronization of multimedia with TTS by defining additional prosody information, the information required to interlock TTS with multimedia, and interface between these information and TTS for use in the production of the synthesized speech.

  • Patent number: 5970459
Abstract: A method of formatting and normalizing continuous lip motions to events in a moving picture besides text in a Text-To-Speech converter is provided. A synthesized speech is synchronized with a moving picture by using the method wherein the real speech data and the shape of a lip in the moving picture are analyzed, and information on the estimated lip shape and text information are directly used in generating the synthesized speech.
