  • Publication number: 20090044004
Abstract: A method for operating a computer having at least an operating system is provided. The method includes the steps of building a plurality of working platforms each of which has a corresponding user interface in the operating system and providing at least a calling link for each working platform to allow each working platform to have at least a piece of usable application software. In addition, a platform selected sub-interface is provided to receive the input of a user. Thus, the corresponding working platform may be called according to the input of the user to allow the user to operate the computer under the user interface corresponding to the selected working platform.

  • Publication number: 20090044055
Abstract: A method for guiding to solve system errors is applied to a computer system. The method of the invention includes the step of calling a debugging application software to check a system state of the computer system when a request for detecting errors inputted by a user is received. When a system error occurring in the computer system is detected, a client database is connected to determine whether a corresponding solution for the user to debug the computer system exists. When the solution corresponding to the system error is not searched out from the client database, a network is connected to transfer a detected error message to a client service terminal.

  • Publication number: 20050251589
Abstract: A method for authenticating a universal serial bus on-the-go device is provided. A first device and a second device connected via a universal serial bus supporting an on-the-go protocol are provided. The first device is a host and the second device is a peripheral device. The host uses an authentication rule to determine whether the peripheral device is an authentic device. When the peripheral device is an authentic device, the host sends an enable signal to the peripheral device to perform a host negotiation protocol so that the first device changes role to the peripheral device and the second device changes role to the host; and when the peripheral device is not the authentic device, the host declines to perform the host negotiation protocol with the peripheral device. Hence, the data security of the USB host is enhanced.
