  • Patent number: 6688460
Abstract: A cup transfer device of a vending machine can prevent the cup transfer device, peripheral objects or the device motor from being damaged, even when an abnormal case is encountered, thereby preventing the cup holder from rotating actively. The cup transfer device comprises a cup holder; means for driving the cup holder; and means for selectively controlling power transmitted from the driving means to the cup holder. The driving means comprises a motor and a rotary shaft driven by the motor. The driving control means includes a first clutch disk connected with the rotary shaft for moving in an axial direction; a second clutch disk secured to the cup holder; and a resilient member for urging the first clutch disk toward the second clutch disk.

  • Publication number: 20030123435
Abstract: A method for establishing VoIP connection between a caller and a called party. Upon receipt of a first dial tone, the caller enters only the access code of the called party's central office. Then, VoIP call setup and a speech path are established between a remote gateway and the caller via a local gateway. A second dial tone is generated by the central office of the PSTN of the called party and this dial tone is relayed to the caller which prompts the caller to enter the telephone number of the called party to thereby establish communication between the caller and the called party.

  • Publication number: 20020176374
Abstract: A voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) gateway includes a foreign exchange office (FXO), a foreign exchange station (FXS), and a VoIP processor. A controller of the VoIP gateway sets the VoIP gateway to either a TANDEM (trunk and ENM (ear and mouth)) mode or a standalone mode. In the TANDEM mode, the VoIP gateway transmits an incoming call from the VoIP processor to the FXO and an outgoing call from the FXS to the VoIP processor. In the standalone mode, the VoIP gateway transmits the incoming call from the VoIP processor to the FXS and the outgoing call from the FXS to the VoIP.

  • Publication number: 20010047333
Abstract: A billing method starts billing a call at a time point where the called party answers the call. A extension subscriber connection processor of the calling party's VoIP gateway determines whether a called party responds to a call from the calling party, and upon receipt of the response, informs the VoIP trunk connection processor of receipt of the response. A VoIP trunk connection processor receives the response information from the called party at the extension subscriber connection processor, assembles a response packet, and transmits the assembled response packet to the calling party's VoIP gateway through a VoIP call channel. The calling party's VoIP gateway checks the response packet out of the packets received through the call channel, and transmits the checked response packet to the VoIP call processing central controller. The VoIP call processing central controller records a call start time for the corresponding VoIP call using the response information received from the VoIP trunk connection processor.
