  • Patent number: 9465641
Abstract: The disclosure is related to selecting and allocating one of resources in a cloud computing system to create a virtual machine. A control server may determine a resource selection reference by selecting one of fault-tolerance and network efficiency upon receipt of a request message for creating a target virtual machine. The control server may calculate at least one of a fault-tolerance point and a network efficiency point of each candidate resource according to the selected resource selection reference. The control server may select one of candidate resources to create a requested virtual machine based on at least one of the calculated fault-tolerance point and the calculated network efficiency point of the candidate resources.

  • Patent number: 8300102
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and a method for tracking movements of objects to infer a topology of a network of multiple cameras. The apparatus infers the topology of the network formed of the multiple cameras that sequentially obtain images and includes an object extractor, a haunting data generator, and a haunting database (DB), and a topology inferrer. The object extractor extracts at least one from each of the obtained images, for the multiple cameras. The haunting data generator generates appearing cameras and appearing times at which the moving objects appear, and disappearing cameras and disappearing times at which the moving objects disappear, for the multiple cameras. The haunting DB stores the appearing cameras and appearing times and the disappearing cameras and disappearing times of the moving object, for the multiple cameras. The topology inferrer infers the topology of the network using the appearing cameras and appearing times and the disappearing cameras and disappearing times of moving objects.

  • Publication number: 20070258528
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus for reducing clipping noise in a broadband wireless communication system in which a clipping method is used and a method thereof. The method includes, when clipped signals are received, decoding and equalizing the received signals to determine transmitted symbols, comparing the magnitudes of the amplitudes of the determined transmitted symbols with a predetermined reference value, and reconstructing signals using the amplitudes of the transmitted symbols and the phases of the received signals when it is determined that the magnitudes of the amplitudes of the transmitted symbols are greater than the reference value.
