Abstract: An apparatus for providing available codec information, includes a receiving unit that receives electronic program guide (EPG) data transmitted by a broadcasting operator; a codec-management unit that checks the position information of the codec based on the received EPG data, and manages the point of downloading time of the codec; an interface-generation unit that generates the position information of the checked codec, and provides the information to the EPG screen; and a display unit that displays the EPG screen including the position information of the codec.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method for upgrading to a new codec used in a digital broadcasting environment are provided. The apparatus includes a first transceiver that receives a transport stream; a first parser that parses the transport stream to determine a codec packet, and decodes codec information contained therein; and a codec-comparison unit that compares the decoded codec information with existing codec information, and determines whether a codec should be downloaded. The system includes a device manufacturer that manufactures a codec packet; a broadcaster that transmits a transport stream containing the codec packet; and a rendering device that parses the transport stream, compares existing codec information with new codec information, and upgrades a codec based on the comparison. The method includes receiving a transport stream; parsing the stream; decoding new codec information; comparing the new codec information with existing information; and upgrading the codec based on the new codec information.

Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method for generating DSP code using a combination of software modules, more particularly, an apparatus and method for generating a DSP code by receiving and combining desired modules. The apparatus includes a storage unit that stores one or more software modules, a DSP-code generator that combines the stored software modules, and generates DSP code executing multimedia content, and a DSP-processing unit that decodes and processes the generated DSP code.

Abstract: A mobile device positioning system and a method of operating the same are provided that can reduce the power consumption of the mobile device. The position-information transmitting apparatus of the mobile device includes a data-receiving module receiving positioning data from a mobile device, a moving-speed calculation module calculating a moving speed of the mobile device according to the received data, and generating transmission time interval information to transmit the data for positioning according to the calculated moving speed, a data-transmitting module transmitting the generated transmission time interval information and the position information of the mobile device to the mobile device, and a load-adjustment module determining a load according to the mobile device having requested the position information, and adjusting the generated transmission time interval information according to the determined load.

The apparatus for measuring exercise quantity through a film-type pressure sensor comprises a film-type pressure sensor to sense pulse pressure of a user's body, a main body to calculate and display a heart rate (HR) and calories consumed based on the HR, and a band that is coupled to the main body and to which the film-type pressure sensor is attached. The band contains a first band portion which is coupled to the main body and a second band portion which contains the film-type pressure sensor and is coupled to the first band portion. The second band portion contains at least one projection to enhance the detection of the pulse pressure of the user.

Abstract: An apparatus to relay connection requests between wireless devices in a wireless network including at least one piconet having a master device and one or more slave devices, the apparatus including a connection request relay unit in the master device to relay to a first wireless device a request from a second wireless device to connect to the first wireless device, wherein the first wireless device is one of the oner or more slave devices, and the second wireless device is outside the at least one piconet having the master device, and a method of relaying the connection requests.
