  • Publication number: 20080037478
Abstract: In the method for dynamic IP allocation using a mobile IP in a wireless portable Internet system, a MAC message used to register a mobile subscriber station contains a flag including a mobile IP version parameter. Upon checking the mobile IP version, the mobile subscriber terminal transmits a mobile IP registration request message to a base station during MAC connection establishment. The base station transmits a mobile IP registration reply message to the mobile subscriber in response to the received mobile IP registration request message to allocate a dynamic IP address to the mobile subscriber station. The dynamic IP allocation process is performed through a secondary management connection to achieve a rapid handoff without using a connection identifier. In addition, the present invention supports a seamless service and the use of the mobile IP in the IEEE 802.

  • Publication number: 20070297611
Abstract: The present invention relates to a security association negotiation method of extensible authentication protocol (EAP) for authenticating a subscriber station user in a wireless portable Internet system. An exemplary security association negotiation method using a user authentication in a wireless portable Internet system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes following steps. A base station generates an authentication key for authenticating a user of a subscriber station. The base station receives a security association capability request message including security association capability information of the subscriber station from the subscriber station after generating the authentication key. The base station determines whether the base station is able to accept a security association capability of the subscriber station included in the security association capability request message.

  • Publication number: 20070153685
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless communication system and a service flow identifier method of the system. The wireless communication system includes a plurality of PARs that provides wireless communication services to a plurality of access terminals through a plurality of access points for separate management of service flow identifiers. The PARs include a service flow identifier controller for managing a service flow identifier used for identifying a connection service of each access terminal. The service flow identifier controller manages a service flow identifier generated by a home PAR and a service flow identifier generated by another PAR among service flow identifiers of an access terminal that has performed handoff from the other PAR to the home PAR. The wireless communication system manages service flow identifiers by using a separate control method, thereby preventing interruption of the entire system network operation due to a signal system error.

  • Publication number: 20070097862
Abstract: Disclosed is a call admission controlling device and method for providing QoS (quality of service) in the portable Internet. When a mobile terminal requests a guarantee of the corresponding QoS and a call admission, a packet access router calculates a bandwidth available for resource reservation according to mobility characteristics of a cell to which the mobile terminal belongs, and determines resource reserved states according to the mobility characteristics with adjacent cells based on the calculated bandwidth to thus control call admission in order to satisfy a handoff dropping probability of the corresponding cell and prevent disconnected calls when a handoff toward the adjacent cells occurs. As a result, the handoff dropping probability of cells is guaranteed, and the resources are utilized effectively.

  • Patent number: 6393009
Abstract: This present invention relates to a method for managing trunk status of a CDMA mobile communication exchange. A CDMA mobile communication exchange according to the present invention has the logical trunk and physical trunks relation to the trunk status, which respectively are managed in separate subsystems, and handles the physical trunks distributed and implemented in various subsystems as a single route through the use of the logical trunk structure in order to manage it in a single subsystem, such that the easy route management and route data collection are made possible. Further, the duplicate management are made for the trunk status through separate systems, which allows thus program for managing logical trunk status to collect trunk status from subsystem for managing physical trunk status and vice versa. Therefore, an effective management for the trunk status can be accomplished, and the route management and routing functions are further improved.
