  • Publication number: 20020178697
Abstract: A grill assembly of a cyclone dust-collecting apparatus for a vacuum cleaner may improve the capability of dust-collecting of the vacuum cleaner by reducing the amount of the filth drawn into a vacuum-generating device of the vacuum cleaner through a grill. The grill assembly may be disposed at an inlet of an air-discharging passage of a cyclone body that separates filth from a whirling air current by centrifugal force. The whirling air current may prevent the filth from being drawn into the vacuum-generating device of the vacuum cleaner. The grill assembly may include a grill body and a plurality of passages disposed therein. An extended line of the centerline of the passages may form an acute angle with a streamline of the whirling air current.

  • Publication number: 20020092283
Abstract: A cyclone dust collecting assembly for a vacuum cleaner includes a dust barrel that is detachable from a cyclone body. The cyclone dust collecting assembly includes a cyclone body disposed in a dust chamber of a cleaner body, for separating by centrifugal force a contaminants from air that is drawn through a suction brush, a dust barrel removably connected to a lower end of the cyclone body. The dust barrel communicates with the cyclone body and collects the contaminants. The apparatus further includes a connecting separating portion for removably connecting the dust barrel in the dust chamber to the lower end of the cyclone body.

  • Patent number: 6381802
Abstract: A brush assembly for a vacuum cleaner includes a brush cover; a brush base connected to the brush cover, a rotary drum disposed between the brush cover and the brush base, and an edge brush integrated bumper. The edge brush integrated bumper is mounted around a joint surface between the brush cover and the brush base. The edge brush integrated bumper includes a pair of edge brush portions integrally formed with the bumper. Each edge brush portion corresponds to a side of the brush cover and brushes off dust that is not accessible to the rotary drum. The brush assembly further includes assembling position guide means and fixing means for securing bumper to the brush cover. Since the bumper and edge brushes are integrally formed in an injection molding process, the number of separate parts to the brush assembly is reduced. Also, since the bumper and edge brushes can be assembled simultaneously, productivity is increased as assembly time is decreased.

  • Patent number: 6295695
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner capable of exterminating bacteria or bugs that exist in the air sucked into a dust collecting chamber thereof. An exterminating section includes: an operating switch for selecting hot air circulation for exterminating operation; an hot air circulating duct disposed on a rear surface of a front body, connecting an accommodating chamber with a dust collecting chamber of the body, for guiding the air in the accommodating chamber into the dust collecting chamber; and a shutter section for circulating the air of the dust collecting chamber within the body of the vacuum cleaner by closing a suction port so as to prevent the outside air from being sucked into the dust collecting chamber through the suction port when the exterminating function is selected.
