    Abstract: A plasma display panel comprises: a first substrate; a second substrate facing the first substrate; barriers forming discharge cells by partitioning a space between the first and second substrates; address electrodes formed so as to correspond to the discharge cells; display electrodes formed so as to cross the address electrodes in the discharge cells; and fluorescent layers formed in the discharge cells. The address electrodes include first address electrodes having a first width and second address electrodes having a second width wider than the first width. When a region where the discharge cells are formed is divided into three parts in a direction crossing an extending direction of the address electrodes, the second address electrodes are formed in a center region, and the first address electrodes are formed in remaining regions excluding the center region.

The PDP includes: a top dielectric layer arranged on the scan and sustain electrodes; a passivation layer arranged on the top dielectric layer; address electrodes arranged on a bottom substrate facing the top substrate, the address electrodes crossing the scan and sustain electrodes; a bottom dielectric layer arranged on the address electrodes. The top dielectric layer includes a region overlapping the scan electrodes and a region overlapping the sustain electrodes, the region overlapping the scan electrodes having a different thickness than the region overlapping the sustain electrodes.

The plasma display device includes: a front substrate; a rear substrate which is spaced apart from the front substrate to face the front substrate; address electrodes which extend on the rear substrate in a first direction; barrier ribs which are disposed between the front and rear substrates to define discharge cells and form spaces between neighboring discharge cells between neighboring discharge cells; bridge barrier ribs which are disposed in the spaces between neighboring discharge cells and connected to the barrier ribs; and first electrodes which extend on the front substrate in a second direction that crosses the first direction, wherein the first electrodes includes: linear portions; and protrusions which are connected to the linear portions and spaced apart from the spaces between neighboring discharge cells. Accordingly, since an interval between neighboring electrodes corresponding to non-discharge regions is large, a mis-discharge is prevented from occurring.

Since the discharge electrodes are slanted, degradation of the phosphor layers due to the collision of ions during the discharge can be minimized.
