    Abstract: A redundant power system has a first power supply and a second power supply. The first power supply has a first controller with a first communication port and a first I/O port and has a normal mode, a master mode and a slave mode. An external device can send a mode setting command to the first controller through the first communication port. The first I/O port is set as an input port or an output port according to the mode executed by the first controller, wherein the output port is for indicating a power providing status of one power supply and the input port is for determining a power providing status of the other power supply. The power supplies can provide an appropriate power to a server according to the modes executed by the two controllers.

The connection interface has a control pin, an error report pin, a power supply pin and a ground pin. The control pin receiving a control signal. The PWM driving circuit adjusts current magnitude and current direction of the motor coil to drive the fan module. The fan monitor chip is connected to the connection interface and the PWM driving circuit, receives the control signal, generates and sends PWM signals to the PWM driving circuit according to the control signal and sends an acknowledgement signal via the control pin after receiving the control signal. The main controller can check if the control signal is correctly received based on the acknowledge signal.
