The two first side surfaces are symmetrically provided on the two opposite sides of an axis, each first side surface includes a ratchet surface, the two opposite ends of the ratchet surface parallel to the axis are respectively arcuately extended toward the axis and the width thereof is gradually decreased to form a first head tapered arc surface and a first tail tapered arc surface; two second side surfaces; the two second side surface are symmetrically provided on the opposite sides of the axis, each second side surface includes a connection surface the two opposite ends of the connection surface parallel to the axis are respectively arcuately extended toward the axis and the width thereof is gradually decreased to form a second head tapered arc surface and a second tail tapered arc surface.

The support member has two wings. An external wall of one axial end of the screw driver has ribs and one first snap. The first snap has oppositely a first outer diameter and a second outer diameter less than the first outer diameter. A through hole having a second snap is disposed on the locking screw furnished thereinside with grooves. The second snap has a first inner diameter less than the first outer diameter but larger than the second outer diameter. The locking screw and the screw driver are disposed in the support member and the extension sleeve. The extension sleeve having two extension wings sleeves the support member. Engagement structures are provide to engage the wing and the inner extension wing.

Abstract: A spine connecting rod includes a coupling assembly, a first rod and a second rod. The coupling assembly includes a cylindrical body having first and second coupling parts and a cylindrical elastic part inside the body. The first rod, pivotally connected with the coupling assembly, has a diameter less than any inner diameter of the elastic part and the first coupling part. One end of the first rod is furnished with a ball having a diameter greater than that of the first rod and any inner diameters of the elastic part and the second coupling part. The second rod is connected with the coupling assembly. The first and second rods protrude out of the first and second coupling parts, respectively. The ball of the first rod is rotationally disposed inside the coupling assembly to allow the first rod to undergo elastic movements via the elastic part.

The second supporter includes a third protrusion, a fourth protrusion opposing the third protrusion, and a second concave portion formed between the third protrusion and the fourth protrusion for supporting another spinous process. The pin pivots the first supporter to the second supporter so as to provide the device an expansion state and a close state for removal and installation between two spinous processes. In addition, a method for expanding spacing between spinous processes is also provided.
