    Abstract: A cutting apparatus for treating carpal tunnel syndrome is provided with a hollow handle including a forward bent portion, a switch mounted on an outer surface, and a video screen pivotably secured to the outer surface; a transparent blade mount mounted with the bent portion and including an upper guide and a lower guide; a metal blade between the upper and lower guides; and an image capture assembly including a light source in the handle proximate the bent portion, a digital camera proximate the blade, and a microprocessor in the handle. The microprocessor is electrically connected to the video screen, the light source, and the digital camera respectively. The digital camera takes video of a target and records same as images. The microprocessor processes the images sent from the digital camera into image signals. The video screen receives the image signals and displays same as images.

An elongated surgical instrument is allowed to insert through a working channel of the endoscope to cooperate with a processor module of the endoscope. The surgical instrument guide device includes a base member, an adjustment member, a catch, a cap member, fasteners, and a tubing. Pegs of the catch are fitted in positioning holes of the base member. A tube of the endoscope is inserted through the tubing of the surgical instrument guide device so as to dispose in close proximity to a target.

    Abstract: A combined endoscope and surgical instrument guide device is provided. In one embodiment the endoscope includes an elongated flexible tube; a housing integrally formed with a rear end of the tube and including a space; a working channel extending through both the tube and the housing; a tunnel extending from the space to a front end of the tube; a plurality of buttons disposed on the housing; a processor module disposed in both the space and the tunnel; and an electronic visual display disposed on top of the housing. An elongated surgical instrument is allowed to insert through the working channel to cooperate with the processor module so that a clear image of a target can be taken by the processor module.

    Abstract: An apparatus for monitoring CSF drainage is provided with a tubing having one end installed in a brain of a patient and the other end installed in an abdominal cavity of the patient for draining CSF from the brain to the abdominal cavity; an internal monitoring device disposed in the tubing proximate to the abdominal cavity, the internal monitoring device being for measuring fluid pressure of the CSF and regulating flow rate of the CSF; and an external processing device disposed externally of the patient, the external processing device being for wirelessly controlling the internal monitoring device by processing a fluid pressure signal and a flow rate signal both transmitted from the internal monitoring device, and by transmitting both a fluid pressure control signal and a flow rate control signal to the internal monitoring device. The external processing device includes a display for displaying processed data.

    Abstract: One embodiment of an artificial spinal implant includes an upper positioning unit comprising a first plate member; a lower positioning unit comprising a second plate member parallel to the first plate member; and an elastic member comprising a bent first elastic half and a bent, opposite, integral second elastic half wherein upper and lower ends of each of the first and second elastic halves are formed with the upper and lower positioning units respectively. The artificial spinal implant has the benefits of not contacting the critical elements of the nervous system housed in the spinal column in surgery and dispersing load on the artificial spinal implant.
