  • Publication number: 20090034993
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming an image determine if printing paper is properly picked up, and printing data is transferred to an intermediate transfer belt (ITB). When it is sensed that the printing paper is not properly picked up, picking up the printing paper is retried considering a revolution cycle of the ITB. Thus, the frequency of errors can be decreased, and a user's convenience can be increased because picking up the printing paper is automatically retried whenever mis-pick up occurs instead of displaying an error. Further, wasting of toner is decreased.

  • Publication number: 20080158593
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a main controller to output a printing command for each page of printing data if the printing data are received; a printing unit to print the printing data according to the printing command; and a printing controller to maintain the printing unit in a standby state until a printing command of a following page is received, if the printing of the currently printed page is completed in the case in which there exists a following page of the page currently being printed in the printing unit. Accordingly, when the printing command of the following page is received, the time for driving the printing unit again can be shortened.

  • Publication number: 20080138093
Abstract: When the density of a toner image of a leading end of a printing sheet is no less than a predetermined reference density, a printing start time is delayed or printing data is deleted so that printing data is not printed in the leading end of the sheet. When the printing is performed in a state where a cover used for copying is opened, a printing start time is delayed or the printing data of the leading end of the printing sheet is deleted. Therefore, it is possible to prevent a fixing unit from being contaminated due to the toner image transferred to the leading end of the printing sheet.

  • Publication number: 20080138127
Abstract: A fuser cleaning apparatus and method of operating a fuser cleaning apparatus for use with an image forming device. Heat is efficiently transferred to a guide member of a fuser, thereby allowing for relatively easy performance of a cleaning operation of the fuser, since a heating roller of the fuser is heated by a heater while the heating roller is not in motion. It is also possible to prevent melted toner remnants from contaminating the heating roller since a sheet of paper which has waited at an entrance of the fuser is conveyed and passed between the heating and pressure rollers of the fuser after the heating roller is heated while it is not in motion.

  • Publication number: 20060233558
Abstract: A jam removing device in an image forming apparatus includes: jam detecting units mounted on the feed path and the discharge path to detect jams; a drive controlling unit to drive a driving source by opening a cover unit; and a pickup determining unit determines performing of a pickup operation by a pickup roller according to the location of the paper. The jam removing method includes: detecting the jam by the jam detecting unit; driving the driving source for a predetermined amount of time where the jam is detected; determining to perform the pickup operation by the pickup roller according to the location of the paper; and discharging the paper using the discharging unit. Since a conveying device is typically not mounted on the feed path, the manufacturing cost can be reduced. Accordingly, user inconvenience and service due to jams can be reduced, thereby increasing the reliability of the product.
