    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as long-term evolution (LTE). An operating method of a reception device in a wireless communication system includes: receiving a signal transmitted through a plurality of antennas of a transmission device; determining an initial symbol vector based on the signal; determining a first candidate symbol vector based on a plurality of solution vectors which are obtained by a search on the initial symbol vector; determining a second candidate symbol vector by flipping at least one symbol value of the first candidate symbol vector; and determining a symbol vector transmitted from the transmission device based on at least a portion of the second candidate symbol vector.

The method includes receiving a signal from a transmitting device which includes a plurality of transmit antennas, determining, based on the signal, multiple symbol vectors from symbol vectors possibly transmitted from a first transmit antenna and a second transmit antenna of the plurality of transmit antennas, and determining combinations of symbols transmitted from the first transmit antenna and the second transmit antenna by searching, for each of the multiple symbol vectors, at least one other symbol vector within a first preset distance from each of the multiple symbol vectors.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus of exchanging information on the number of layers which is supported commonly between the base station and the terminals in Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) environment is provided for performance enhancement. The communication method of a terminal in a wireless communication system according to the present disclosure includes receiving a reference signal and information on a number of layers supportable simultaneously from a base station, measuring a channel state value based on the reference signal and the number of layers, determining whether the measured channel state value fulfills a minimum required channel state value, and transmitting, when the measured channel state value fulfills the minimum required channel state value, a value determined based on the measured channel state value to the base station.
