    Abstract: The present invention relates broadly to compositions and methods for performing nucleic acid analysis. In particular the invention relates to a universal oligonucleotide probe set and a hybridization matrix or array for performing analysis of nucleic acids from any source. The oligonucleotide matrix of the present invention provides up to approximately 1018 different oligonucleotides thus being sensitive enough to provide unprecedented capacity and sensitivity.
