  • Patent number: 8037749
Abstract: Disclosed is a network monitoring method including: a predicted amount of rainfall obtaining step of obtaining a predicted amount of rainfall generated in a predetermined time in a current line route; a prediction step of predicting whether or not a line failure occurs in the current line route caused by the predicted amount of rainfall assuming it rains actually in the current line route with an amount of rainfall substantially equivalent to the predicted amount of rainfall in the predetermined time in the current line route; and a change instruction step of instructing the radio communication network to change the current line route into a different line route on which it is predicted that no line failure caused by rainfall occurs and to control the radio communication network to change the current line route into the different line route, before the predetermined time passes.

  • Patent number: 5257675
Abstract: A power transmitting apparatus that includes an engine, a transmission disposed alongside of the engine in juxtaposed relation; and gears, a chain, a belt, or the like operatively coupling the output shaft of the engine and the input shaft of the transmission. The transmission comprises a countershaft-type transmission having, in addition to the input shaft, a countershaft and an output axis of rotation which extend parallel to the input shaft. The countershaft is disposed more closely to the engine than a plane which passes through the input shaft and the output axis of rotation of the transmission. Preferably, the output shaft of the engine and the input shaft of the transmission are operatively coupled with a resilient belt trained around a drive pulley coupled to the output shaft of the engine and a driven pulley coupled to the input shaft of the transmission.

  • Patent number: 4761155
Abstract: A tensioner acting on and allowing an endless transmission belt, stretched between a driving wheel and driven wheels supported on the body of an internal combustion engine, to run under a constant tension, wherein an oscillating lever supports a tension pulley pressed against a loosening side of the transmission belt and has a base end pivoted on the engine body, and an automatic adjuster connected to a tip end of the lever is supported on a case for a hydraulic pump of the engine. A spacer is interposed between contact portions of the oscillating lever and the engine body, and an outlet of the pump and an oil port of the adjuster are directly communicated. An adjusting screw is provided on the tip end of the oscillating lever and is operatively connected to the upper end of a plunger of the automatic adjuster.

  • Patent number: 4644911
Abstract: A cylinder block for an internal combustion engine includes the skeleton frame formed of metal and a waterjacket surrounding the frame formed of a heat resistant plastic. The engine includes a cylinder head and the cylinder bearing supports and a sleeve forming a cylinder bore. The engine block, cylinder head and main bearings are fixed together with bolts which pass through portions of the framework parallel to the metal sleeve. The engine also includes an air intake pipe with the portion of the pipe adjacent the waterjacket integrally formed with the waterjacket.

  • Patent number: 4553473
Abstract: A DOHC engine of the V-type has two cylinder heads each detachably secured to a cylinder block. A crank shaft on the block drives two intermediate shafts, one on each cylinder head, by means of an endless flexible element. An additional flexible endless element is provided in each cylinder head to drive two cam shafts from the intermediate shaft on that cylinder head. Each endless flexible element together with its toothed pulleys or sprockets and its timing belt or chain is described as a wrap-around transmission.
