  • Publication number: 20140009392
Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing having a display, an angular velocity sensor, an acceleration sensor, and a controller. The angular velocity sensor detects an angular velocity around the X axis parallel to the display. The acceleration sensor detects an acceleration along the Z axis, which is perpendicular to the display and orthogonal to the X axis. The controller performs a first process when the angular velocity sensor detects a positive angular velocity first and then detects a negative angular velocity, and the acceleration sensor detects a change in the acceleration along the Z axis. The controller, on the other hand, performs a second process when the angular velocity sensor detects a negative angular velocity first and then detects a positive angular velocity, and the acceleration sensor detects a change in the acceleration along the Z axis.

  • Patent number: 7630686
Abstract: A radio-frequency signal receiver and its manufacturing method are disclosed. A tuner receives a radio-frequency signal, and a demodulator receives an output signal from the tuner. An error corrector receives an output from the demodulator. A determiner determines whether or not an error rate supplied from the error corrector is not less than a predetermined rate. A controller receives an output from the determiner, and based on the determination, the controller controls a plurality of sections forming the radio-frequency signal receiver. The controller controls selectively one of the plurality of sections, thereby lowering the error rate. A manufacturing method of this receiver makes a memory, coupled to the controller, store a shift-amount of frequency corresponding to an interference signal in a pass-band of a narrow-band filter.

  • Patent number: 6882693
Abstract: A digital signal receiver capable of obtaining a favorable receiving performance even if the input signal level changes rapidly is presented. A control voltage for controlling a variable gain amplifier is read by a microprocessor, and an operation-starting point of the variable gain amplifier is shifted by using this control voltage. As a result, a favorable level fluctuation response characteristic is obtained regardless of the input level.

  • Patent number: 6744830
Abstract: A receiver for a digital broadcasting service have a compatibility between tuning to a desired channel at a short period of time and an improve ment of a bit error rate (BER) characteristics. In a case where a target wave is fluctuated, to prevent the receiver from having a significant declination of BER characteristics and to ensure the reproduction of high quality images, the receiver includes an automatic gain controller including a loop filter in which the frequency range of the loop filter can be switched according to an output of a synchronous state discriminator. The frequency band of the loop filter is selectively adjusted to one setting designed for minimizing the duration for tuning a desired channel before a synchronous state is established. After the synchronous state established, the frequency band of the loop filter is switched to another setting designed for enhancing BER characteristics.

  • Patent number: 6038431
Abstract: In a card-type electronic tuner, a digital broadcasting is received without need of hardware reconstruction of a personal computer used for the digital broadcasting reception. The electronic tuner includes a signal input terminal, a local oscillator, a mixer, an output terminal, a PLL circuit and a data input terminal. All of these components are packaged in a card-type case. A digital signal processor includes a digital signal extractor and/or an A/D converter and is connected between the mixer and the output terminal. The digital broadcasting is received and the data is applied directly to the personal computer. The electronic tuner in the shape of a card can be used with an expansion slot for a memory card of the personal computer and there is no need of reconstructing a hardware of the personal computer.
