    Abstract: A beverage cooling system has an ice storage bin having a mechanical agitator disposed therein. The ice storage bin includes an opening at a bottom portion thereof, and the mechanical agitator is actuable to mechanically agitate ice in the ice bin and mechanically force ice through the opening. An ice guide is disposed adjacent the opening in the ice storage bin. A cold plate is disposed adjacent the ice guide. The cold plate has an inclined upper surface thereof and includes at least one beverage line disposed underneath the upper surface. The ice guide is positioned to deflect and guide ice onto the inclined upper :surface of the cold plate, wherein the ice is moved along the upper surface by mechanical force provided by an actuation of the agitator.

    Abstract: When an upper limit float switch Fu is closed after a lower limit float switch Fl is closed according to a rise of the level of water in a water tank 60, a solenoid water valve WV is closed and power supply to an electric motor for driving an auger 40 and a compressor connected to an evaporator 30 is then allowed. When the lower limit float switch Fl is opened, the solenoid water valve WV is opened and power supply to the electric motor and compressor is cut off. When the lower limit float switch Fl is opened, a time set longer by a predetermined time than the time for the water level in the water tank 60 to reach the upper limit from the lower limit is measured. When the lower limit float switch Fl is kept open due to suspension of water supply, the solenoid water valve WV is closed in response to the completion of measurement of the time. This can suppress power consumption of the solenoid water valve WV.

A pair of guide plates (7) for guiding ice discharged from the ice discharged port toward a center portion of the ice storage level sensing plate are mounted on both side walls (3b) of the ice guide barrel (3) closely adjacent to the ice storage level sensing plate (5). By mounting the paired guide plates (7), gaps otherwise taking place between the ice storage level sensing plate (5) and the ice guide barrel (3) are closed to thereby prevent the ice from moving to the rear side of the ice storage level sensing plate by circumventing it. The ice storage level sensing plate is thus protected from being blocked.

    Abstract: A rotary cutter for an auger type ice making machine mounted on a rotatable shaft thereof comprises a plurality of cutter blades for cutting ice rods extruded from ice compressing passages into ice pellets or chips. Some of the cutter blades are integrally provided at an upper edge portion thereof with an ice feeding blade having an inclination relative to the center axis of the cutter which is smaller than that of the associated cutter blade. Owing to the provision of the ice feeding blades, the ice chips resulting from the cutting are prevented from staying at the upper edge portions of the cutter blades. As compression of ice between the cutter blades does not effectually take take between the cutter blades, the ice is not unncessarily hardened, facilitating extrusion of ice from the cutter.

    Abstract: A control circuit for an auger type ice maker using a relay which is responsive to a predetermined level of an ice making water in a tank and to of a predetermined level of stored ice, and a timer circuit responsive to the commencement of the ice making cycle which corresponds to the detection of the water level and the completion of the ice making cycle which corresponds to the detection of the ice level, both by the relay. This timer circuit is arranged so that during the starting operation it starts to drive the auger motor at the beginning of the ice making cycle and then after a first predetermined time starts to drive the compressor, and during the stopping operation, it stops the compressor after a second predetermined time after the detection of the completion of the ice making cycle and then after a third predetermined time stops the auger motor. Should a short interruption of the supply of water occur, the timer circuit can ignore it because of its delay time.

A positioning portion is disposed on the upper end of the auger shaft to position the cutter at a predetermined circumferential location. The cutter is provided with a cutter edge supporting portion with an attaching portion which is attached to the positioning portion and which can change the positioning location of the cutter in cooperation with the positioning portion.
