  • Patent number: 9299831
Abstract: A field effect transistor and a semiconductor device are provided which enable a drain breakdown voltage in an off state and a drain breakdown voltage in an on state to be improved respectively. There are provided therein a field oxide film disposed on an N-type drift region positioned between a channel region of a silicon substrate and an N-type drain, an N-type drift layer disposed beneath the drift region of the silicon substrate and the drain, and an embedded layer higher in P-type impurity concentration than the silicon substrate. The embedded layer is disposed beneath the drift layer except for below at least a portion of the drain in the silicon substrate.

  • Patent number: 7376430
Abstract: In a mobile communication network, a controlling node receives capability information from a mobile terminal, indicating positioning methods supported by the mobile terminal and selectability of the positioning methods. In response to a location request message from a client terminal requesting the location information of a target mobile terminal, the controlling node transmits a first control message via a wireless node to the target mobile terminal, containing a copy of requested accuracy of the location information, if the capability information indicates that the target mobile terminal is capable of selecting positioning methods. The mobile terminal performs measurement according to a positioning method that satisfies the requested accuracy. Otherwise, the controlling transmits a second control message to the mobile terminal, specifying a positioning method. In this case, the mobile terminal performs measurement according to the specified positioning method.

  • Publication number: 20070063897
Abstract: The invention is to provide a technique for specifying the location of a terminal with a high degree of accuracy even in an environment in which the grand total of the number of base stations and GPS satellites that can be measured is only two stations. A hyperbola 11 is found from the difference between the reception time of a signal from a base station 22 and the reception time of a signal from a base station 23 in a terminal 21, and a circle 12 is found from the round-trip propagation time between the base station 22 and the terminal 21. Intersection points between the hyperbola 11 and the circle 12 is calculated to find a candidate point 13 and a candidate point 14. The terminal 21 is located in a sector 27, so that the candidate point 13 existing in the range of the sector 27 is specified as the location of the terminal 27.

  • Publication number: 20070015515
Abstract: If a user 101 clicks a link to a specific URL (step 501), a terminal 102 transmits a content request to a content server 201 (step 502), and in parallel, starts a location measurement processing (step 203). Upon completion of the location measurement processing (step 204), the location measurement result thereof is maintained in a memory of the terminal 102 (step 503). If a link with a location measurement result request is clicked by the user 101 (step 202), the terminal 102 gets a position of the terminal itself, and transmits a content request with location based information to the content server 201. Waiting time which the user feels when a location based information service is provided is thus reduced.

  • Patent number: 6950408
Abstract: In a speed converter for an IEEE-1394 serial bus network, first and second communication device nodes are attached to first and second buses. A first transceiver node receives an inbound first packet at a first speed from the first bus and transmits an inbound second packet, which is received from the second bus by a second transceiver node at a second speed, as an outbound second packet at the first speed to the first bus. The second transceiver node transmits the inbound first packet as an outbound first packet at a second speed to the second bus. Header translation circuitry translates the destination identifier of the inbound first packet to the destination identifier of the outbound first packet according to a mapped relationship between the first transceiver node and the second communication node, and translates the destination identifier of the inbound second packet to the destination identifier of the outbound second packet.

  • Patent number: 6920509
Abstract: In a device information acquisition method, it is discriminated whether a network is constituted by a plurality of buses or a single bus. A bus ID assigned to each of remote buses is acquired. Device information is acquired from each of devices connected to the network. When at least one of the remote buses is disconnected from the network, the device information of the device connected to the disconnected remote bus is discarded. If it is discriminated that the network is constituted by a single bus, the information of all devices connected to the local bus is acquired. If it is discriminated that the network is constituted by a plurality of buses, the information of all devices connected to each of the buses having the acquired bus ID is acquired. A device controller and bridges using the device information acquisition method are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20020072357
Abstract: A wireless communication network (181) includes wireless repeaters (15,16) having radio Irradiating surfaces. The wireless repeaters are fixed so that the radio irradiating surfaces thereof are adhered to two surfaces of a wall (19) and, thereby, a wireless connection (110) is established by setting tho wall as a radio transmitting medium. The wireless communication network connects wired communication networks (13,14), thereby structuring an indoor network.
