  • Patent number: 6414821
Abstract: When a negative pressure slider is used in the magnetic head support mechanism with a loading/unloading function, the gimbals is likely to be deformed or damaged. Apart from the first tab provided to the front end of the suspension, the second tab is provided to the front end of the gimbals. In addition to the Suspension supporting ramp, the ramp portion has the second ramp for supporting the gimbals. This arrangement allows the slider mounting gimbals, in addition to the suspension, to be loaded/unloaded. Unlike the conventional drive in which only the suspension is loaded/unloaded, this arrangement enables the gimbals to be loaded/unloaded while maintaining a predetermined space between the gimbals and the suspension, thus reducing the risk of gimbals deformation and damage.

  • Patent number: 6069641
Abstract: An ion flow recording apparatus performs recording making density modulation every pixel. When developing on a fine grain toner is to be performed using a liquid developer for an electrostatic latent image, a developing unit (developing roller) is disposed to face a direction of gravity. Namely, a control valve is provided on a pipe for application of a developer to the developing roller or on a joint portion between the pipe and a developer tank, developing units of different two colors are joined to their developer tank portions, and a rotary shaft is provided on the joint portion to be positioned at a point of symmetry to provide alternate use of the two developing units upon turning them. Therefore, developing for a plurality of colors can be simply performed, and such turning of the developing units enables prevention of the toner from deposition in the liquid developer during developing, thereby making it possible to perform a clear recording.

  • Patent number: 5778294
Abstract: In a color electrophotographic apparatus, a belt fixing device which includes a pressure roller and a plurality of belt transport rollers for rotating a belt are provided for fixing unfixed toner. In the belt fixing device, a heating roller and a driving roller, which constitute the belt transport rollers, are always kept in contact with the pressure roller so that a fixing belt is curved in contact with the pressure roller, and after fused toner has been cooled, the driving roller applies pressure to the toner to separate the toner from the belt. According to this arrangement, a small-sized fixing device is achieved in which no silicone oil is needed and in which the running stability of sheets and the fixing belt is superior so that a high-quality fixed image can be obtained. A color electrophotographic apparatus using such a fixing device is also achieved.

  • Patent number: 5602578
Abstract: An intermediate transcription drum is supported so as to be driven in contacting relationship with a photosensitive belt. The rotating speed of the photosensitive belt driving motor is controlled by a control unit such that one rotation cycle of the intermediate transcription drum becomes a given cycle. An adjustment of the speed control data for the photosensitive belt driving motor is performed in the interval between electrostatic latent image forming. Thereby, a speed difference between the photosensitive belt and the intermediate transcription drum does not occur, and a plurality of the toner images can be transferred and accurately superposed onto the outer surface of the intermediate transcription drum.

  • Patent number: 5243394
Abstract: An electrophotographic device records linear marks, according to jobs, at an edge of at least one side of a sheet. By designating according to jobs, the sorting of recorded sheets which are stacked up in a stacker is facilitated. The sheets are fed one after another by a carrier device, and thereafter an edge of the sheet is detected by a paper tip detecting device or a paper side edge detecting device. Based on the detected position of the paper edge, a linear mark K, corresponding to a position designated by a control device, is recorded on the sheet.
